For multiplayer 343 stated it would be free to play
We all know that you still need a membership to play multiplayer on Consoles but xbox just made a huge update
Free to play games on Console will not require membership for multiplayer online play, as well as party chat
So given this will Halo Infinite Multiplayer not require a gold membership on xbox?
Given the recent shifts you mention, I imagine that you are correct, assuming it doesn’t take Microsoft 9 months to fully make the change.
Yes the recent policy change does mean that you will be able to play Halo Infinite’s multiplayer without xbox live gold! I also believe that they activated that just this week so you can play all the free to play games you want without Gold right now if you wanted to.

It is already happening. I am an Xbox Insider in Alpha Skip-Ahead (The first to receive updates.) We are now able to play F2P games without Gold. Once we and Alpha rings test this for a few weeks, Beta will get it. Then Delta a few weeks later, then Omega for maybe a week or two. Then it goes to live. So, if I had to guess, I think it will go live sometime in mid May or June at the latest. Late April at the earliest.
Xbox are in the process of changing how Xbox Live Gold works. These changes are currently in beta testing.
When the full release happens this means that you will not have to have Xbox Live Gold to use party chat or play free to play games. It will be available to everyone who has a online account on the Xbox Network regardless if you have Gold membership or not.
Long story short. You don’t need Gold to play Halo Infinite’s multiplayer. It will be completed free of charge.
Well this is the first I am hearing of this. This is crazy awesome good news! I cant wait to play with all my mates who don’t game console because they dont want to pay the gold membership.

Most definitely!
It’s a fantastic way for Halo Infinite to really have the opportunity to shine in the spotlight again.
Having absolutely zero barrier to entry to play this game online with friends is such a huge thing.
It’s exciting to see that Halo Infinite has huge potential
Very good news. Gets as many people playing as possible. I feel like at this point the only way to get even more playing would be bringing it to even more platforms which won’t happen unfortunately. The bar for entry is as low as possible so let’s hope it can keep people’s interest.
Although it should truly be free to play, be warned that Microsoft will find another way to enter your pockets.
For example a battle pass, instead of in-game progression.
No membership required to play.
Wow if it requires no membership for online, this would be a huge selling point for multiplayer. I am impressed Microsoft is going this route
