So did they change the aiming?

Had gotten the hang of the aiming but been over aiming today. Noticed some people thought they had tweaked it?

not yet…

The only thing that I know of is that its just a tweak for aiming with different versions of Xbone controllers. Likely nothing noticeable.

Soon ™

there were issues with certain xbox controllers dead zones (I’m assuming it was dependant on the firmware of the controller, as I’m sure not everyone updates their controllers)

they aren’t “tweaking” the aiming or adding in more aim assist.

Am I the only person that doesn’t have a problem with the aiming in Halo 5?

Nope. When I pull the trigger what I expect to happen, happens. I know if I missed or not, and that result is displayed on the screen.

They haven’t fixed aiming yet, hopefully they do. There is a serious lack of precision with close range battles, its just not smooth like beta. Maybe the adjustments they add will help, we can only hope.

Thats fair, but a lot of people are having problems. Based on your MP stats, it doesn’t look like you have played any, unless there is some other account.

The close range aiming is bad, and not smooth like it used to be. Everyone is different, but there is definitely a bad change here, and they said they changed it based on “pro” feedback, so they know its different.

I believe they fixed the slow turn issue, where people with poorly calibrated joysticks werent able to reach the “pegged state” (as 343 calls it) whereby the game switches to a very high sensitivity turning mode when the joystick gets to its outer most limits.

However, the only feasible way they could have achieved this… is by lowering the threshold for when the “pegged state” is reached.

So yes, for people with properly functioning controllers… the patch is probably going to make your aim worse and cause you to over aim more, since you are now more likely to accidentally engage the “pegged state” when you dont intend to.

Not sure if it was a good idea to detriment the playerbase at large in an attempt to cater to a small group of people with malfunctioning controllers, but im pretty sure thats what they did.

Sorry, it didn’t occur to me that we may be talking MP only. No, I haven’t had time to sit down and play multiplayer (well, except for that one time, at 1am, drunk, you see how that went  ). But in campaign I haven’t had any issues. It’s the same engine so the only thing I could see that could be introduced as far as the aiming mechanics would be latency.

Again, it didn’t occur to me that you may be discussing MP only. I suck in MP (H4 drove that point home to me) and certainly don’t have a leg to stand on as far as criticisms/opinions.

Still nothing? I’m so confused. I played Halo 5, and aiming feels off again. I thought it got used to it. Haha I’ll get a hang of it.

No worries. I don’t think ive heard anyone complain about aiming for single player, its all based on MP. Its extremely hard to aim in close at points, and seems very jagged and inconsistent.

I didn’t have an aiming issue…

until the btb update.

halo 5 has been unplayable since.
