So I played Team Slayer and man oh man it felt like I was playing nothing but pros. It could be that I had no team, but wow, I felt like this was my first time playing online, is this happening to anyone else?
As the population goes down and more of the casuals leave for other games only the die hards will really be playing so yes arena will more likely get a bit harder as time passes.
I remember revisiting H3 well after H4 was released and the games were extremely tough. Matching up against some players who had well over 20,000 games played.

Pretty much this. Less people playing just means the ones who are left are usually the people that breathe an online game.
Yeah I may stay away from Ranked then, even if just for the daily win, I got worked pretty badly. The thing is this showed me as an old Halo vet, I’m just old I can’t keep up with the new customization, movement speed, and gun play. It’s not anything bad but, I just couldn’t keep up.
I’m finding it pretty easy this season. I think the 2 month season kinda messed up the mmr. I think a lot of people are over ranked. Which means a lot easier games for 1700+ onyxes.
Yeah I’m an Onyx, I haven’t been an Onyx rank in a very long time. But I truly know this isn’t the rank for me, I can barely keep up and have gone negative almost every game except for maybe 2.

That’s what I was thinking, there’s going to be a lot of over ranked people. Somewhere around mid July I was in a slayer game and went 24-6 and was just dominating. I figured I just matched a team of diamonds and caught a lucky break…But, it turns out it was a team of 4 onyx’s, while 2 of them were at least 1700.
never play when the season resets. Its when the try hard full times try to rank. Just a heads up.

Honestly I wait a week after reset before ranking.
Reason is to play into my rank. Not get thrown into a too high of one. I almost always rank plat in slayer. Play my way into diamond and just move up and down the diamond ranks. Onyx is a little too sweaty for every playlist for me other than FFA.
I find the faster you do your ranking games the higher you rank. But that just may be me.

I do not remember struggling this bad during Halo 2, Halo 3, Reach, Halo 4, this is like embarrassing levels of difficulty.
I don’t know if it’s harder, but the matches seem insane. My 2nd game ranking in arena this season was against 4 Champions and one of them was an MLG pro. Seems about right considering I’m usually only a mid platinum in arena. lol
Yeah I’m a majority Platinum and Diamond player now, the movement these guys do is insane, I can barely keep up with them.

Yes it’s happening to me also, you’re not alone.
It’s like your speaking the words i’m thinking 100%.
I made that mistake to play at the same time the ranks got reset, i went negative like almost every game i think.
Also i agree with Onyx division being too sweaty, atleast for me, i’m also one of the older Halo players and im struggling to keep up.
If this keeps going i seriously consider going back to Halo 3, it’s embarrassing.
Guys it may also be due to age primarily. I’m 36. I don’t have the same reflexes I did when I was 21 playing CE. This is why I’m not overly the top competative any more. Younger thumbs are faster thumbs. Also if you’re an older player you don’t have the time to game as much. I just play for fun and to unwind for the day.
I consider myself a 2nd tier halo player now. And I’m content with that.

Exactly. I’m 34 and more than happy to hit diamond in a few playlists and onyx in FFA. I’m just not as fast as I used to be and honestly half the time I’m playing I’m stressing about responsibilities that come with being an adult instead of focusing. lol

Damn, I guess we’re finally that older generation that says BACK IN MY DAY because when I was 17 I felt I was pretty good at Halo. Now I’m lucky if I can even go positive on Team Slayer.
