During the preseason I had 3 playlists in Onyx, I think 2 in Diamond and a whole slew in Platinum, which was my lowest. This season, however, I have 5 Platinum playlists and only 1 Diamond. By my 9th game in Slayer I was almost 100% sure I was going high Onyx, yet, to my astonishment i was greeted with a Platinum 4. I know I played just as well as I did during the preseason, Any of you guys experiencing the same? Or just thoughts?
Yes, but the question is what rank was wrong? Pre-season, or this season?
Also, you will be playing the same people from before because most likely they are having the same issues
Last season ranks were inflated, I think Onyx in FFA had something like 30% of the playerbase, and SWAT was notorious for being inflated as well.
This season things are being brought back a bit.
So yeah, higher ranks are harder to achieve this season, which means your Plat and Diamond ranks are nothing to feel salty about.
I agree that the ranks were inflated. So I think that this season has the “correct” ranks.

Im halfway through platinum 6 in ffa! I want that onyx rank!
Seem to be I was Onyx rank just after launch and now I’m silver though Tbh my sons likes to play and being only3 yrs old taking it in turns match after match he may have been why I got ranked so low. No offence to the chap but he can barely walk in game let alone jump,charge or shoot a moving target.

I watched a stream where a guy played multiplayer when the game came out and he lost a lot his accuracy was not that good the video is still on YouTube called (Halo 5 Multiplayer Gameplay | Arena | First Day). The video is like an hour and a half long but i watched it just to see what rank the game would give him. He got Platinum 1.
I got the game later on when people had been playing and i see a lot of people on these forums with onyx and champions ranks (since the game shows the highest rank achieved) But when i look at their arena history they have mostly gold ranks in the playlists.
It has to be harder to rank up now than it was when the game first came out. Im stuck in platinum.
I’ve been a slacker and haven’t placed yet, but I’m already doing worse this season than preseason, so I could see a lot more gold in my future. Oh well, lol!
They did make it harder to get higher ranks. Last season the system was broken, placing people too high. This season is where you are supposed to be. Surprisingly though, I got placed in Diamond for the first time after the reset. But that has more to do with me being allowed to lower my aim acceleration.

Yeah it basically placed me where I left off in slayer, but im finding it much easier to climb so far. I too play with randos so you never know whats going to happen lol
