so CSR means

being matched with equal skill level?
Hmmmm this proves it doesnt…

I have just been handed my backside to me by CSRs 23/ 26 / 29 / 33 / 42 / 46 & a token 1 & 2 on Red team

ON my team of the 1’s who didnt quit … a CSR 3 / 10 / 18 / 28 / 40

& 343 wonders why the population is going down with game play like this?

CSR literally does nothing. It is like BPR from Reach, you can be paired up with anyone regardless of Skill Level.

Because of Lag & the game restarting it says it was incomplete but oh now we battled on to the pitiful end

this time it was Red team CSRs 1 / 1 / 33 / 41 /42 / 48 / 48 / 50
4 of which where all in the same clan

vs

my Blue team CSRs 1/ 2 / 3 / 5 / 31 / 32 / 40 (he quit) / 49

I really do not see how this is CSR working?
how is matching me with people who are over 10x my CSR going to make the game enjoyable when all I am doing is dying, re-spawning & then dying again!

& before anyone says I am just bitter because I got well & truly beaten into the ground!
I played 4 games earlier with 5 lvl 40+ CSR’s we won them all very easily. Now they where all buddies (we all had mic’s on) & I found it really boring as I struggled to get more than 2 kills as they where so fast running between the enemies spawn points!

They’ve said multiple times that the longer it takes to find a match the looser the CSR restrictions will become. Also the current population doesn’t help.

If you actually spent 5 minutes reading how it actually works you would know.

Well I haven’t felt this bad about the game since I 1st started playing MM & would regularly get destroyed.

Bean Head200 is incorrect.

With the reset of the TrueSkill at the launch of CSR you lost any initial ability to be matched with appropriate opponents.

You are back to square one - which means playing against everyone else at square one. Be that the worlds best or the worlds worst.

6 months of TrueSkill matchmaking was undone for wanting a ‘fair’ start to CSR.

Like Shamona220 said; CSR (Which is just visible TrueSkill) is used in conjunction with other factors to try and match make you against appropriate opponents. If none can be found (and with playlist numbers in decline, this gets more and more likely) the range of ideal players will expand to include players who are better/worse than you.

You will play against plays who are more skilled and some that are less skilled. Swings and roundabouts.

Thank you for explaining.
Altho I have only noticed playing with such high CSR’s when I am in a party & my friends are mid 20’s CSR’s, normally I am paired with around 1-15 CSR’s. It is just these last 12 games I am noticing this.

No problem.

Depending on the Playlist you and your team mates CSR will be averaged.

For example if you were a CSR-10 and your friend was a CSR-20 you would be matched against CSR-15 players.

You could be seeing this in effect.

Yes I understand why I play against high CSR when I am in a party in the game lobby. It was just today driving me up the wall.
Thank you again for explaing & making things clearer.

Also keep in mind that CSR in “non-competitive” playlists list like IS and BTIS is based off of in-gaming scoring rather than win-loss, K/D, etc. So, run right in and try to get “Stuck” and “Kill from the Grave”, etc. as those are worth 2-3x a regular kill in terms of scoring.

What playlist is BTIS?
