So close to uninstalling

I love Halo. I’ve been playing Halo for 20 years and bought all legendary editions, controllers, shirts, etc. I’ve never thought about uninstalling a Halo game to play other games. It was always my go to game.

Because of the desync and server issues and crashes I stopped playing for a little. I recently saw there was an update to fix the issues I had with the game. so it gave me motivation to return.

My first game was probably one of the most laggy games I’ve ever played of Infinite. The second game my teammate crashed at the start of the game and half way through the game I crashed.

The fact that this game has been out months in this state is pitiful. Easily the worst Halo game I’ve played, I am disappointed 343. I had such high hopes, seeing a huge budget for the game and having 6 years, and learning from H4/H5/MCC, I really thought 343 knew what they were doing.

Anyone else on the verge of deleting?

Not deleting, but it is really disappointing how this beta has been handled.

I swear the update actually made it worse for me.

I keep getting matched with people speaking foreign languages and I live in NA.

i’m with you lad
on my end, i have a decent wifi connection. 60 ms on a good day. not good, but not bad either. i can play games perfectly fine like cod, mcc, tf2, etc… but infinite is so bad. so bad to the point of ‘packet loss’ when there shouldn’t be. AT 60 MS. the only times i get packet loss in other games is when i’m at 100 ms.

as for crashing… my game doesn’t crash a whole lot as a pc player, once in a blue moon. considering my rig is pretty good

intel 15-10400 CPU
16 G memory
and a GTX geforce 1650 super GPU
for those curious

and is able to run things like battlefront 2, cold war, and mcc at medium to high graphics perfectly fine at 60+ fps. infinite on the other hand CHEWS CPU power, on LOW SETTINGS. despite the game not looking any better than the prior stated games. going at 30 - 60 fps. Infinite is just so poorly optimized

i ain’t uninstalling it… but boy am i annoyed at 343 that they can’t do a competent job as a game dev team, with 6 years and a very high budget. i expected more… and yet here we are, getting reasonable explanations, fair. but no excuses for the game being like this

is it making you mad? if it is then 343’s job in done.

Most crashing seems to be cause by an issue with over locking on the GPU but still there is no legit reason the issue hasn’t been resolved yet.

The desync has just gotten worse since the recent update. The game went from 50/50 playable to not playable at all. I’ve never been this frustrated with a Halo game in my life.

Nah I’m having a blast. Btb specifically is a lot of fun

Same. Out of all the modes I feel like BTB, Oddball, and Slayer are the most fun

All of the above. I am in a rural area of Australia, I’m not sure if this contributes to it, but the game is unplayable for me. I now do one Bot Bootcamp, every other day and that’s it, even then it’s a crap fest. I don’t even try melee attacks, hit register is a joke and I ‘teleport’ constantly. I am 52 and have played video games since the Atari brought out Pong. I was on the Nintendo until 2002, when the X-Box came out in Australia. Metroid, Zelda and anything Mario or Donkey Kong. Halo finished me with the Nintendo, except for when my Mum visits, then we break it out for some bowling. I have to say though, many decades ago, someone said to me, " You get what you pay for ". Infinite MP is free and I suppose I got what I paid for, a game that can’t be played. I have the disc for the campaign and it’s also a glitchy, incomplete game. I’m pretty upset about that. The only saving grace, is that a lot of the glitches have me peeing my pants laughing.
At least I have the MCC and 5. The MCC challenges are going great and I play a game of Warzone quite often, only at level 148 though.

This is the only game I play that does not like my normal/stable OC settings of 120+ core 800+ memory, and I’m on a factory overclocked Asus ROG 3080 Strix. Even running stock settings it’ll still crash on me. If there’s a single player game that has ray tracing I’ll usually run my 135+ core 1125+ mem OC, this is an instant crash with Halo.

So far, 60+ core 200+mem seems the be alright and I’ll get the same amount of crashing using those settings vs stock settings. Halo doesn’t even like undervolt/locked volt, I like to run a locked voltage of 1.0 @ 1995Mhz, it’ll boost and hold 2025Mhz and sometimes hit 2040Mhz all within under 400 watts, which I much rather prefer as long as the performance is good.

Also, game pass version of Halo Infinite MP is still unplayable for me. It’ll crash in the lobby while loading the map. I have to use the Steam version to play Halo MP but Halo Infinite campaign is playable with game pass version. Cannot figure that one out myself.

This was the end of December and is still the case today…

Then uninstall. Bide your time and reinstall when the game gets good.

I uninstalled about two weeks ago… wanted to play some ranked FFA today… so I installed halo 5 haha…. I didn’t renew my gold this month. So I’ve been watching the wind outside. A lot more interesting.

I’ve played Halo since 2001. 20,000 multiplayer matches played. 500+ campaign playthroughs.

I could barely make it a few hours into Infinite’s campaign without being bored.

And the Multiplayer is a disaster. Ironically Halo 4 is way more fun.

Sniper is useless
Warthog feels like a Moon Buggy
Tanks handle weird
Infinite Brute Chopper should be deleted from existence
Most of the weapons feel unbalanced or meh except for the AR, BR, Sidekick, Cindershot, Heatwave, Mauler and Disruptor which are good.

The maps are pretty graphically, but mostly meh in terms of layout. The BTB maps are too small for 24 players.

You can’t even “sweep” your shots with the Sniper anymore because autoaim is non-existent.

Last time I played was new years eve. Unininstalled the next day. I could tell by then that it was in a bad way with no hope of getting better in the near future. Here we are almost 2 months later and its actually gotten worse. Amazing. And still no road map or any kind of plan. They spouted so much B.S. about how amazing it was going to be. Why anyone is bothering with it at all at this point is beyond me.

Although maybe they can pull a CD projekt and re-release it early 2023 in a functional state. Great times to be gaming!

i abandoned ship last month and i’ve never been happier. Been playing Halo since the original game and it’s just exhausting continuously being disappointed. I started Infinite with a full Big Team Battle Lobby of friends.

Before i quit i was the last man standing. with 200+ hour played i couldn’t stand getting shot around another wall or the stale gameplay loop any longer.

It’s free2play.

Try it.
Uninstall it.
Wait a few months.
Give it another try.

There is noting to lose.

If they make attrition a permanent playlist I’ll probably never play anything but that and btb honestly. I’m working on a montage of funny stuff that’s happened lately
