So basically.....IT'S ALL DELRIO'S FAULT!!!!

Spoilers…obviously.

This is only semi serious but, while I feel Cortana is justified in her contempt for part of humanity (you would too if you were seen as a thing especially after what we know about AIs from hunt the truth…) I can’t help but feeling that if Del Rio had been less of a D-bag to her we would not be dealing with the coming blue overlord she turned into.

So…yeah. his fault…not only he is a total byatch, but now also responsible for the rise of the machines…GLORIOUS!

I don’t think he was necessarily being a -Yoink- in this case. He saw Cortana’s rampancy and followed protocol. Only when Chief disobeyed him did he need to eat a Snickers. But yeah, I just find some irony in him kinda being right.

LOL! That is such a perfect way to describe Del Rio’s reaction to that. :stuck_out_tongue:

But yeah, OP, I’m gonna have to disagree with you on this. I don’t think Cortana really gave much of a -Yoink- that Del Rio did what he did, because she already knew she was dying, and the Chief protected her from him.

Nah, this is more of 343 hating on Halsey. Even Halsey is like,

“Dudes! Im evil and she is a copy of me, and she has the ability to do all the evilness in my head! We need to stop her cause IM EEEEEEVVVVIIILLLL!!!”

Eats snickers Del Rio turns into a map of Rio
But yeah. I agree with Del Rio. She was extremely unstable and being a clone of Halsey, she might do some unpredictable things.

It took me a while to realise why Cortana went so nuts at the Infinity in particular. I’m fairly certain Del Rio isn’t even on the Infinity, surely Cortana would know.

He really should have followed through with his orders

If Del Rio had succeeded though, Cortana would be really dead, and none of this would’ve happened.

Actually, if Chief had handed over Cortana to be disposed of properly then this wouldn’t have happened. So it’s not Del Rio’s fault. He’s a Senator now, and he’s probably laughing thinking he’s going to run for re-election using this “I was right, Chief was wrong”.

Well no…my question would be “had Del Rio been sympathetic and not threatened to kill her and maybe even entertained the idea she COULD be cured and offered to help…what would she gave done after being cured?”

If he disposed of Cortana his voters would be promethean knights…

Yet the first figure of human authority she sees after 5 years decides to kill her even tho there is a chance to recompile her…I somehow think if he had been sympathetic to her cause she might not have turned out this way

Interesting thought, could be a variable, but maybe not the main reason lol
