So, basically Halo is doomed.

So, Specializations affect gameplay. A lot. We were supposed to get these specializations yesterday. But…

You guys just forgot to mention this little one important detail. Now millions of us didn’t get the codes for specializations. And what’s worse?

> For all of you who opted out of marketing emails, according to the original email, codes will not be re-sent.

Well, that’s lovely isn’t it. Beautiful.

> However, I have a question into that team to find out if there’s anything we can do for you. I don’t know when I’ll have their official answer but the second I hear something, I’ll let you know.

At least you’re trying to help, and I do appreciate that. It was just a mistake, and I honestly can’t hold a grudge for that. It was more of Microsoft’s fault anyways, deciding to send this as junk mail. But still, none of this should be the case in the first place.

I think the whole idea of specializations and how they’re managed with the Limited Edition is just completely wrong.

Withholding maps or cosmetic affects and saving them for just Limited Edition players is alright, as it gives a good bonus to those who paid more, while not truly providing negative effects to the rest of the community.

However, withholding specializations, which provide game-changing perks and blatant advantages to those who have them, as well as being composed of over 50% of the ranks of the game, isn’t right.

Right now people who paid $100 for the game get advantages. They are able to re-roll ordnance drops and basically get any weapon they want, while we’re often stuck with needlers. They can move much faster with turrets. Some do not flinch from being shot while scoped. Others have a waypoint over the last person who killed them. These are obvious advantages that have a huge effect on gameplay, and right now many people can have these to use and destroy other players with.

However, all of us who didn’t want to or couldn’t afford to pay double for the game are stuck without these advantages and are left at their mercy, and there’s nothing we can do about it. Additionally, a lot of people are capped at level 70 and can’t even rank up, being cut off from over half of the game’s ranks. Many don’t even play anymore because they don’t want to earn the commendations and get no exp for it, because this wastes their exp that they can get. So basically people can’t play the game anymore because they didn’t pay double price. And now they’re being driven away in droves.

This is a very bad precedent to set for games and I hope this doesn’t happen ever again.

Actually I’m fairly sure I’m just not gonna play Halo anymore if things continue down this road. Another fun thing to do when there’s nothing going on here at college is get ridiculously drunk with friends.

I whole-heartedly agree with your post. Its exactly what I think. CE and LE versions give em skins and other non-essentials to make it worthwhile. Never ever lock content that gives a competative advantage to a small subset of the playerbase.

Crap game, crap service. Halo 5 is gonna flop, lol!

It would be insane of them not to release the other specs for everyone, at least at a later date. The way they did it the first time was definitely pretty foolish, though.

So what about those of us that are opted in and played before the 20th, and still got screwed out of the codes?

That is quite stupid.

> So what about those of us that are opted in and played before the 20th, and still got screwed out of the codes?

Really unfortunate, but I guess you’re completely out of luck here, since apparently the codes have all already been sent.

But like I said, if 343 gave skins, armor, or bonus out-of-game content instead of in-game essentials, this could’ve all been avoided.

Wow. People with more money get advantages.

Didn’t Mitt Romney lose the election?

QUESTION

What about the people who played after the 20th?

these guys have to be kidding.

Why is this so happening?

I hope with all my heart that sales for any products related to Halo 4 will tank! They shouldn’t be able to screw their fans over and then still get payed in full.

Virtually nothing goes unnoticed on the internet, but somehow 343i has been able to communicate with their fans so badly that (1) the fact that no Europeans will receive the spec codes at all, just came to light, and (2) the fact that having a marketing feature turned off on your account equals no code, was stated after the codes had been sent!

I am European so I will not receive my code! But at least I can feel happy knowing I wouldn’t have received the code anyway since I always turn off Xbox marketing when I create my accounts.

343i: I hope you pay for these mistakes! I also hope no one will by Halo 5.

PS. My above complaints aren’t the only reasons as to why I feel like I do.

This is why I’m going to stick with Bungie and their new project.

I would just like to recommend that you guys should do that too if your disappointed with 343 and Halo 4.

I have no pity for any of you and I quite think all of you need to calm down just a tad bit. Don’t blame 343 or Microsoft for your OWN fault of turning off Microsoft marketing emails, the entire thing was discussed before the 30th and it’s all of your own faults for not looking into it. That sums that up but one more thing, are you seriously kidding me about complaining that Limited Edition people get the 8 specializations? Wow. Just wow that is pretty desperate. Rewarding those that pay for the limited edition is needed and all of your seem to be jealous at those who got it. All of you need to have a different perspective on this and just calm down, saying halo 4 will fall for things like this is not true. If you’re going to stop playing the game then just stop! You don’t have to spam it all over the forums to try and re-create some kind of “Anti-343-halo” thing.

FYI, 70 is more than half the ranks. Only goes to 130.

It stings alittle- been with Halo since the first one came out- but this is NOT a shining momemt for 343i - and I’ve heard so many conflicting stories from Xbox live (said codes are to be released the 3rd), what I’ve seen posted here (first the 21st, then the… oh well)- you know it’s really gonna take a great effort to recover from this and covince me to ever buy anything from 343i again.

I bought the limited edition, and I hate what they have done with this specialization process. I bought tge le for the maps, which.after seeing them I dont even want after seeing them. I was sent a code which I gave to a friend, this kept one more player playing 343. Open your eyes you are killing this franchise. Just stop snd THINK.

What’s the point of playing if you don’t level up. It doesn’t matter how fun a game is you don’t have something that drives you to play it and do well. There’s no CRS and we’re capped at 70 the only thing we can do is play and waste xp. It’s not fair that the limited edition get the specializations because their a BIG part of multiplayer and the limited editions were LIMITED, meaning that everybody could not purchase it. So yeah, they screwed us.

You’re exaggerating about the Specializations, most of them are -Yoink-.

The only one I would consider using is the one where you get to switch your ordinance, the others are bad.

I played Halo 4 before the 20th, and have not opted out of marketing stuff, and have yet to receive anything related to this matter

ARGH! (not that I am level 50 yet, but getting there)
