The title really sums it up for me. I believe that crossplay can be a positive thing, but in its current inception for Halo Infinite I can’t help but feel it is flawed. It is totally evident who is running this game on PC , and who is not. I will also say I am sure there are those who don’t care to play with console players either, but in this game it is very clear who benefits from crossplay and who doesn’t.
From the countless issues with de-sync, cheating, squad mismatching, and various other issues, it is very clear that 343 had no plan after release. I think 343 is in major contention on screwing the pooch with this wonderful game. It has so much potential, and as it stands there are enough players for them to be able to implement an option for us to disable crossplay. I don’t see how any players benefit from forced crossplay. I almost feel as if it a last ditch option when your games population gets dangerously low. I don’t see why a brand new title would feel the need to force it between two populations of healthy players. My fear is that if it continues, we will never get the option due to the player base rapidly dwindling.
As it stands, infinite is dying for me. I have about 400 games in, and I am losing interest fast due to the issues. I could go more in depth, but the title says it all.
While I despise the new mode, every time I know it’s m/kb is watching them as I shoot them from behind instantly jump whip around and somehow I lose the fight. It’s irritating and Im getting real tired of it real quick. This game has been issue after issue with no resolution to a bunch of it. I’m about to push this game to the side real fast. Desync is the biggest one for me as I know there are times I shouldn’t die or should have gotten the kill
Both inputs have advantages and disadvantages that even the most dedicated and focused of balancing cannot fix.
It’s time to stop hoisting one input’s advantages over its disadvantages while ignoring the other’s advantages and only focusing on the disadvantages.
Crossplatform/cross-input segregation will patch this for some of the more overly concerned individuals and at higher tier (or ranked) play, but this “doom and gloom” approach to inputs is starting to get stale.
So explain to me which advantages controller has (besides aim assist) that outweighs kb/m. Genuinely curious. As I am aware of the differences, I still feel the m/kb has a slight bit more of an advantage than a controller would depending on how someone plays with it.
Also it’s not doom and gloom for most people as I see it, it’s more of an irritating inconvenience that would turn the casuals off the game.
Plus pc croasplay allows for more cheaters to invade a console space way more easily
The difference between fighting PC players vs the most sweaty of players on previous games is night and day. I want lose firefights because I get outplayed not because the other guy aims with his whole arm vs my thumb.
i too want crossplay/cross-input gone or as an option, can’t stand these players who lack the coordination to walk through a doorway but can laser you with the sidekick from the other side of the map barely even putting the crosshair on you but because of the aim assist and bullet magnetism gifted to them. I’m thinking about giving this poo show another go but switching back to controller on my PC just to compete, means i’ll probably end up ditching the skewer though as sniping with a thumbstick was never my strongest skill.
I just saw this today on YT… You can turn off cross play (almost 100%) at the Console level in the Xbox settings.
It’s unclear if this will block play with PC players who are playing a game through the Xbox app and not Steam (or another launcher)
