I use Siege turrets on my base in an experiment. The experiment obviously was to tell whether to use Siege turrets or just have four regular turrets. Yes they have great range but the problem is they take extremely long to load. chances are if an army were to rush your base they would get one shot off before the army goes all the way to the back and destroys them. So are they really worth that 900 supplies just to get one shot off?
I think it depends on the map. If you can sneak an expansion near their main. Siege turrets are pretty damn helpful when you attack with your army. For defensive purposes, you are better off with regular turrets, but if you want an added attacking power near well defended bases, siege are probably better.
Yes and no. The main advantage of the siege turret is that their incredible range often allows them to hit other nearby bases. Needless to say, this can be problematic for said nearby base.
Also, if your opponent is going heavily into infantry, they thin the heard quite well before the ball can get out of the turret’s range.
I’d say they’re worth it only if you have a significant surplus of supplies you can’t spend elsewhere on hand, though.
IMO siege turrets are just that – SIEGE turrets. They’re meant to be deployed on forward bases. Couple 2 siege turrets with 2 watch towers often allows you to shell the enemy base directly.
PSA: Watch towers’ visual ranges stack.

I never knew its range stacked could explain why people can shell you from a ridiculous distance. But yes I agree my forward base always has siege turrets. This is to soften any approaching army and shell any mini base that may be near by.
hmm…I didn’t know they stacked, guess I will have to try that out. Wonder if it stacks in addition to let’s say Johnsons remote sensors.
That would explain how my base would get sieged even though I could have sworn they didn’t have sight on my base.

They seems do
