So about this whole match players with DLC together..

Well for starters it’s not working at all. I’ve seen DLC maps come up only twice in the voting options, and only once did I actually play them since Premium was removed. What is funny is that Bungie said the exact same thing months ago, and look what happened, barely seen them before, barely seem them now.

343, do you honestly expect people to play Objective all day hoping for that 0.05% chance that Condemned will show up and be voted for? Same thing with the Infection ones, how often do you think you’ll ever see Condemned in Living Dead? All you’ll get is Sword Base and Cage.

So, you make a bunch of Defiant required achievements, only to take away the only playlist where you will actually play them? Hands down terrible playlist managing right now, another example of this is Arena which is still broken and not competitive at all, but that isn’t the point of this thread…

All of this is just a pathetic excuse to take away a playlist because “it was dead” BS it was, take off the Anniversary requirement and Premium will be a lot more populated. Hell, I still had no problems finding games even when there was 200 people in it.

Discuss, Waypoint.

As I’ve mentioned in other threads, Premium Battle was a bad solution since one playlist was insufficient for the different map sizes. You couldn’t play BTB on Breakpoint or Highlands, and Uplink was excluded because of its size. The best possible answer that I can think of is to have two DLC-only playlists; one for BTB and one for smaller sized maps. This is not a perfect solution, since there will be people unhapppy with having Slayer and Objective games on the same playlist, but it seems to me the most pragmatic way of handling the issue.

Trouble is, if 343i was unwilling to keep one DLC list (presumably because of its population), they are not likely to support two such playlists. Although I would disagree, they run the show.

Of course, if they can find a filtering algorithm that works, that might be the best solution. I just can’t fathom them ever being able to do this for BTB, but I would love to be wrong about this.

Two lists is okay, but the smaller one needs to be FFA. Infection is a FFA game and has achievements related to it, therefore it needs to be in a FFA list.

(We’ve adjusted the Matchmaking algorithm to match players who have DLC with other players who have DLC more often than in the past. We’ve also upped the weighting for DLC in our playlists so that you’ll see the DLC in your voting options more frequently. Also, remember that all of the Anniversary maps have been added to the majority of the playlists. The combination of these things means that you’re going to be able to enjoy your premium DLC in Matchmaking much more often than ever before.)

ok, so why are so many people really really really really really pissed off at you guys then? why can’t we choose to play what we paid for? and no, im not a troll, or an uneducated little kid, i am a 34 year old that has pumped money into the halo franchise since day one. after ten years of loyalty, I simply ask this… if you don’t want halo players to ditch your game to go play MW3 or Gears3, then why do you guys “try” to improve something, yet screw it up and make it harder for your community to do what they want to do, which is play your game… at least halo3 has team mythic, but really, if this is your marketing dept. trying to force dlc on people, it’s not working… if it is a simple mistake, fix it. if it’s a matter of people complaining, you’ve heard it all before, so why don’t you fix it? oh xmas, ok… well, if it isn’t fixed by mid Jan. you can count on ALOT of halo players ejecting your disc and going to play a game made by developers who actually think first about screwing up what sells the game in the first place… just some hard truth for you to think about… Please show this to whomever had the brilliant idea of taking away the Premium Playlists… Wake up and smell the thousands of raging nerds, and a few disappointed loyal adult consumers… like me for instance… thanks 343, you sure do know how to make yourselves look good, I wish Bungie was running this show still, at least they didn’t drop the ball right after catching it…

I agree, since there are achievements related to this. It would be like requiring the 7th on the 7th achievement over in Halo 3 without offering that playlist.

I like Halo gamerscore, but boosting isn’t a viable solution.

That’s another thing I want too add. The only reliable way to get the new Defiant achievements is to boost, but than you get banned. lmao “Here you go, a bunch of achievements requiring maps that are never in MM anymore, but we’ll ban you if you get a full party to boost them.”
