So About That Smart Scope Video.

    Above I posted 2 videos. One shows how in the pre-beta for H5:G Smart Scoping did improve accuracy to a noticeable degree. There is also a Halo Follower video that explains things a bit more, and also tells you when you can pre-download the beta, and when it should be going online. I myself played about 15 matches in the pre-beta with a friend who is a preview member for Xbox. I’m making this post to see what people think about this discovery. I also want to stress how this is from the pre-beta and may not be representative of the actual beta, as well as the final product. Changes could have been made, or may be made later. I’d like to give my own opinion on this matter.

After playing the pre-beta I didn’t notice this at all. Yes technically it is there, but using Smart Scope didn’t have a huge effect. I myself used it from across the map, not at close range like in this video. My range in itself was likely enough to nerf the AR, and SMG. It most likely didn’t for the Magnum, BR, or the DMR. I will say though that on killcams I did not see people using it at all outside of kills from across the map with the BR, Magnum, or DMR. I do not see this at being a huge now. Maybe once people figure it out it could be. De-scope may help, but having SS mapped to left-trigger by default isn’t the best. I personally play Bumper-Jumper and that has SS mapped to right-stick. This like a lot of complaints I’ve seen are manageable. This is an easy change. I’ve noticed a lot of people pointing to what Walshy said regarding to his time with the beta. Now I don’t understand why Walshy is supposed to decide others opinions regarding Halo, because he’s not, and I know he doesn’t think that way himself, but I will say a lot of his criticisms did reflect mine. But they are all fixable (is that a word?) none the less I caution everyone to think on whether or not the issue they have is fixable before going on a rant about it.

What I’d like to know now is what everyone else thinks on this.

I keep saying it doesnt matter if weapons get an accuracy buff because of DESCOPE. Descope means it cant be abused.

Do people want certain weapons to be less effective than others? Smart Scope makes AR more effective, I’m not sure thats a bad thing. If it is somebody explain. All I see is complaining because maybe Battle Rifle wont be god weapon anymore.

Also I remember Walshy saying good things about Halo 4 lol. Who cares what “pros” say. If they got all the Pros together to make a game it would possibly be the most basic boring game ever. They’d probably take out jumping because its “unpredictable”…

Of course it’s going to tighten up your shot grouping on a target 5 feet in front of you. There is less visible area on the target when zoomed in at that range.
