So about that Energy Sword....

Many of you may know this, but for those of you who don’t know, allow me to explain: When you have an Energy Sword/Energy Sword Variant equipped and you use Smart-link with your energy sword, you can extend the range of your sword attack by a considerable distance. Note: This is only if you use the attack button w/ the sword, NOT the melee button(as far as I know). How much is a “considerable” distance you ask? I don’t really do with the whole measurement stuff when it comes to these things;
but I think this is overdoing it just a wee bit.

What do you guys/gals think?

I mean… even if that wasn’t there (also I’m pretty sure Vorpal Talon increases lunge range), you should’ve won anyways. Who uses a sniper in against a sword in CQC?

Vorpal Talon has increased lunge, I think.

When Smart-Scoped, the sword lunge range is almost twice as long as the Energy bayonet / Knight blade. I think it’s just under 12 m.

The increased lunge range on the sword when aiming down is ridiculous. Should be a bit lower if you asked me. And no, SultanOfSwag217 and adventure923, the Vorpal Talon doesn’t give increased lunge range. It gives additional thruster hangtime and 2 thruster evades.

I’m pretty sure everyone knows that by now except for nubs who don’t know how to play Halo 5.
Also the Energy sword shown in the video is a REQ weapon. That specific Energy sword has a much longer range then a normal Energy sword has. Hence why you could get to him so much quicker.

The Grenade Launcher is a 1-shot kill when done correctly, that or you can take out the shields of multiple enemies at once (I went on a killionare with one before in Warzone lmfao)

The Battle Rifle is a 4-shot perfect kill and if you’re accurate with it, you can kill people much faster then a guy with a pistol can. 5-6 shots as well, but the BR does shoot slightly faster then the pistol does.

The pistol is a 4-shot perfect kill weapon when accurate, 5-6 shots if not. It can also actually kill people faster at close range then the Assault Rifle can if you’re really, really accurate with it. If you aren’t that accurate, the AR will always win in close range engagements. The SR beats the AR as well, meaning if someone has a SR, you can’t win even if you have a pistol.

The DMR is a 5-shot perfect kill, but shoots faster then both the pistol and BR. It can kill faster then the Pistol if all shots are accurate, but around the same speed as the BR.

The Light Rifle is a 3-shot perfect kill when zoomed in, 4-5 shots if not. It also fires the slowest. When zoomed out, it’s a 4-5 shot perfect kill I believe (I think it’s 5 shots, but I could be wrong and it’s actually 4 shots instead, haven’t messed with it in a while in H5 nor do I really count my shots at all when using it)

Rocket Launcher should be self explanatory.

The Suppressor has a really, really long range. It’s not nearly as powerful at close range, but it’s bullets track on players and you can get some nice multi-kills with it especially because of it’s long ranged. The 3rd REQ level suppressor has got to be the most powerful close range weapon in the game honestly, next to that being the Needler. Mainly because when you fire enough bullets into players, they explode and also cause damage to any surrounding enemy players next to them. It’s a great weapon to use in my opinion as long as you know how to use it and when to use it.

I think most people know this now. You can also “zoom” in with the hammer and that increases its range alot. Personally, I really hate the fact that zoom increases melee weapons range. It’s absolutely ridiculous!!

Oh ok, I misread that. In my opinion, it is a good feature, but it should be nerfed a bit. Maybe like 3 metres more than the Grav Hammer?

The Magnum is a 5-shot perfect, and the Lightrifle is a 3-shot perfect regardless of scope. In addition, the Magnum can beat the Storm Rifle in CQB if you get a perfect and thrust right (Or if they suck and overheat the weapon)

LightRifle has to be scoped in for three-shot. Four-shot when unscoped.

A lot of people actually. So many people have these dank no scopes now

That’s only if they suck. The SR will always win against the Pistol in a 1on1 combat with each player in front of one another. I’ve tested it. AR though, sadly it won’t because its not nearly as powerful.

At certain ranges though, the Magnum will win due to the large spread of the SR’s bullets.

I didn’t know the LR was a 3-shot perfect regardless of scope because last I checked zooming in with the LR made it more powerful to perform 3-shot perfects, while zoomed out, it’s not as nearly as powerful. At least that’s how it was in H4, and I’m pretty sure it’s the same with H5 as well right?

I agree the smartscope range needs to be drastically reduced. Especially in infection. It gets really annoying when zombies can lunge at you from half a mile away.

Edit: Lightrifle is 4-shot when unscoped. I didn’t realise zooming increased damage. Yeah. However, the Storm Rifle is slightly risky cuz if you miss 3 bolts and isn’t close enough for a melee, the Magnum will win. Within melee range, however, the Storm Rifle will win. (Unless they REALLY suck) I estimate that they are even at about 10-15 metres.

Thats why i don’t play infection.

Each Halo they nerfed the energy sword lunge range. Zoom in for energy sword in Halo 5 is same as lunge on halo 2, just like how the shot gun when zoomed becomes as good as Halo CE in range.
The smart link bonus for melee weapons and shot guns is needed because of the shorter time to kill in Halo 5. It has to be so those weapons are balanced and useful. In no way are they overpowered, if anything the melee weapons did a buff in the time it takes to smart link.

Lots of people use a sniper, many of them shouldn’t as they’re not consistent enough to use it cqc. I don’t see why one can’t if he’s able to make it work, as long as you can hit the shots then go for it. It’s really a great weapon in many situations. Wanna bum rush a sniper? He can go for the snap shot to your head or do a simple body shot with a quick melee right after.

Magnum is a 5sk (perfect in specific) actually. So unless they all of a sudden buffed the magnum and I missed it then no idea what you’re talking about.
