In reality, it actually has a short duration and a somewhat long recharge time.

OP, if you’ve been following closely you should understand that countermeasures have been implemented to balance it, such as a long recharge time, short usage time, pulse effect that takes a while to move and an audio alert when you have been hit by the “Pulse”. Not to mention that the motion tracker essentially does a very similiar job, Promethean vision just gives you a visual cue.
Why is thruster pack in Matchmaking?
Why is hardlight shield in Matchmaking?
Why is hologram in Matchmaking?
Why is regen field in Matchmaking?
Why is auto-turret in Matchmaking?
Why is jetpack in Matchmaking?
Why is active camo in Matchmaking?
Answer those, and I’ll answer yours. I’m going to assume you don’t know where I’m going with this and answer it myself. AAs are now a part of Halo’s sandbox. Each AA from what we’ve seen are balanced. They don’t add a huge advantage to the user. Just a slight hand to the playstyle you want to play. Promethean vision is no different from any AA I listed. It’s balanced. If you choose promethean vision over another AA, okay, good for you. It’s a trade-off. I’m rarely going to use promethean vision because I know how to use my radar, and I’d rather benefit from another AA which more plays to my playstyle.
It’s been nerfed to almost be pointless to use. We already have a wallhack called a motion tracker.
