Who else thinks its kinda sad that more than Half of the Spartan Companies that show up on the main company page are for the Achilles armor and helm? I just don’t think that the soul purpose of being part of a company, or clan, should be to get armor…I dont get it. And I don’t think full Achilles Companies that are not accepting new members should be on the front page.
There’s just to many of them…

Sole purpose is to be social, and unfortunately every company i have been apart of where achilles isn’t the main goal, no one ever talks to each other or plays together. That’s why i joined a company that is going for it, because we get full fireteams and all communicate and have fun.
To me, Spartan Companies are kind of broken due to Achillies. There was no reward for clans in Halo 2, except to be social and game with the same group of people. Unfortunately, nowadays you have to give gamers a carrot in order to induce them to play cooperatively with each other.

Maybe you’ve joined the wrong ones, if you are really seeking involvement, check YouTube. There are big clans that dont care about Achilles like it’s a symbol of dominance.
Right now the main incentive to SC’s are the Armour. They need to continue this aspect greatly in the next game to really bring it out. There’s alot of potential but as of now it’s only separation is a armor set.

The Achilles armor to me is not that meaningful compared to the Hayabusa Katana or the Helioskrill armor.
IMO: Creating armour that Companies could earn through teamwork and dedication was a good idea. However, 343 should’ve predicted how far the community would go to get it, and if they valued the Company system, it would’ve been a good idea to create other earnable armour to take the spotlight away from Achilles.

The bigger two things that I like about Spartan companies
The roster, it makes it easier to invite you clan, right? But only if they are playing Halo 5. There should be an indacator that shows wethe5 the certain people in your company are online…Anyway, I like this becauseI domy need to absolutely friend each one of my members.i already have over 300 friends…i dont need more…
It’s an easy way to organise people and know if there are in a clan. That little tag under someone’s GT when you inspect them. Thats nice. I also can send messages to my members easier. On XBox you can only send to 32(for some reason [could send to 100 on 360])
But like you said, the Company system has potential…
I love the whole idea of a Spartan Company. 343i did a beautiful job gathering and getting players to actually work together. With the medal link from Halo 5 and waypoint is a completely new concept for the Halo world and it’s a fantastic system. I currently lead a Spartan Company and everyone is in it for Achilles. Yeah our name probably doesn’t have “Achilles” in it, but we grind for it. Heck we even have die hard Arena players and HEY last time I check that helps with the Kill Commendations too. We have created group chats, weekly goals, always partnered up, run fun custom games etc. Without the Spartan Companies I wouldn’t of met a great group of players which I have been playing with for the past year now. Achilles is what brought people together. Remember that.
Yes the armor set is a big motivator for companies and players. However it does have its good points, we’re still finding new members who actively play Halo, a year later (!). It’s helpful having that goal that everyone can work towards. Some companies are pretty hard core about grinding for it, but really just find a company that fits your play style and needs.

I can’t even find a casual company/clan instead of try-hards and Achilles farmers.
