So a few thoughts,

SO, I have a few things I’d like to ask, solely from curiosity really, from a Halo MMORPG, to weapons and just Halo itself really, from fan to fan, so strap in, saddle up, gear up, do whatever you need to do if you are so kind and please do not attempt to destroy me with your fiery word-swords.

So, the dreaded halo mmorpg discussion, but before i mention that, let me ask this;

Obviously a question on whether it would be in 1st person or third person might come into question, and personally, i think a third person MMO view would be PERFECT for halo, I’ll explain why, please provide your thoughts;

Alot of Online RPGS nowadays are third person, though some are in first, I’d say personally, i prefer third, reason for this being, you can actually see the person you are attempting to portray. I think that when you can see your character on the screen, his jewelry jangling and his arrows in his quiver or whatever, help to paint he image of what your trying to create in your head, because when you roleplay or even play an rpg passively, i think alot of people tend to try and not only enact a certain desire, but to actually feel a small piece of that aswell.

First person view is perfect for really getting upclose to the game, but I feel that in third person, a game creator really gets to show off, in a good way. I love the parts of Halo when the gamers pans to third person. The look of the armour as it moves, the footsteps pounding the ground, the way your spartan looks down the sights of his weapon, readies his grenade, the list goes on for me, and I think as these animations get better, the real, but created feel of a spartan will begin to take shape even more so, in first person, the game still sometimes just feels like a moving box, or even monitor, with a gun and hand attachment, though when the games in third, I think seeing the effect your own spartan has on its environment, even the way he runs or walks, or silently stalks victims has a much greater experience for me overall, this is mainly why I love the theater so much, and i know alot of developers will say that first person is better to immerse a gamer into the game environment, but i think that if certain things were improved, then third person would be far greater, seeing subtle reflections on your armour, blood spatter, scratches, dents, your empty bullet cases heaping in a pile at your side as you unload clip after clip on some badass -Yoink!- just hopping around your screen. I think being able to see things like this, on your own creation, would help add to the experience you’d have over all.

So inall, if they WERE to make a Halo MMORPG, I’d say personally, I’d want it to be in third person.

Another thing, would be vehicle customizations? Even upgrades? Increased speed, damage, even vehicle skins I think would be fantastic additions to the game, the same way a person might roleplay with his spartan as a sniper, some also want to be able to roleplay as vehicle users, and customizable vehicles, even simple, small modifications, would massively help this, and I think that would be amazing.

Water based vehicles - So, we have oceanic spartans now, surely theres a whole box of goodies to come along with something as different as Oceanic spartans. I’d like to think that the UNSC has weapons designed for underwater combat asmuch as they do for land and space combat. Submarines, jetskis which would be the mongoose of the seas, ships and weaponry capable of delivering ordanace from the sea, to land, even the capabilities of laying mines for enemies.
I think an underwater map in Halo, or even the ability to SWIM would be a massive leap for the Halo series, in Halo reach multiplayer, there always seemed to be an abundance of water to find yourself accidentally jumping into. I think, considering we’re talking of super advanced soldiers, with hyper-technological suits, they shouldn’t be afraid of getting their feet wet.

Now also, something else I think 343 needs to do to really create a better feeling for gamers, personally, I absolutely hate one thing about Halo. Having to sometimes continue bash the A button just to hop over an object because my feet keep getting hung up and knocking me back a little bit, in the heat of a multiplayer battle, nothing screams to me more than having some kind of full, freedom of movement around the debri and buildings, almost a parkour like movement, not only will it look badass, it will also be better for the games movement and playing overall, no one likes to be stuck trying to hop over a ledge, being pounded with headshot after headshot, bashing A before promptly dying, a miffed-off shade of your former gaming self.

Those are just a few thoughts for now, lemme know what you think, any criticism or comments are entirely welcome, thanks for reading if you managed to make it to the end, I really should find better things to do!
