Because people keep bringing the wrong arguments here ill make my perspective very clear here:
I am NOT saying that getting rid of Achilles would stop farming.
I am NOT saying players are necessarily farming BECAUSE of Achilles, but it could be a factor.
I AM saying that Achilles could act as an incentive or an excuse to continue or start farming, and the way you obtain it should not be made easier through farming, for example, if it required game wins instead of kills, the enemy teams would not have to draw out matches through killing but instead try to win matches quickly so as not to cause issues by farming.
Find a team and stop complaining. 343i has already shown proof that Achilles does nothing to increase farming.

Only the farmed can rise up against the farmers. Stop expecting others to solve your problems.

It wasn’t rewarded though.
Nothing they can do, they take Achilles away, flood of complaints… they try anything to hinder stat padding/farming, those that enjoy it, will find a way. Only a social playlist w/o stat tracking will stop them.

Flood of complaints from the farmers, not everyone else. They could allow it to be unlocked through random chance. Without an incentive to farm, there wouldn’t be as much.

Because groups called “weneedarchilles” that farm aren’t people farming because of Achilles. That’s just a coincidence because it wasn’t shown in a graph.
There is no feasible way to stop people from farming.
Also it’s not against the rules. And if they did make it against the rules, there is no way to reliably enforce it. What if you were the 12th player & got put on a Fireteam of 11 who were farming even though you had no intention to farm. Should you be punished?
It’s not against the rules & there is no way to stop it. Quit complaining & play with a team.

I am not even in a Spartan company… but doing that just wouldn’t be right, sure maybe a variant or so, which still is cutting close to wrong. Either way, your not getting it, this may have become more noticeable due to the unlock, but in the end they are nothing more then stat padders raising their KDs. Nothing will stop them except some really good matches or no KD tracking.

They can’t and don’t need to stop farming as a whole. They can stop incentivising it. A while ago before launch they talked about how they were creating and removing medals. They felt like some incentivised bad behavior, such as Yoink!, and removed them because they didn’t want to encourage that. Same thing should be applied to Achilles. If it’s incentivising bad behavior it should be changed. I didn’t see people complaining about the Yoink medal and it got pulled, but now when people complain about something similar, they get brushed off.

That’s not tangible in the same way as a visual customization.

You see, in america we encourage teamwork and doing everything ethically (because nothing but your fragile ego is getting hurt) to come out on top with the most profit. So people are going to farm the hell out you and your non working random’s that don’t know teamwork from a hole in the ground. So suck it up buttercup and get use to dissatisfaction in all aspects of life. Because life is hard and unfair. People will gang up on you and pick on you. So remember no one is going to ride to your aid. You’re on your own princess!!!

Take away medals, stats, armors, anything you want. It’ll still happen. Hordes of people will still find it enjoyable. I would be avidly against taking away features just because some people can’t figure out ways to break farming set up. If you want to encourage 343 to do something against farming, the only feasible option would be to have them introduce a Mercenaries Warzone playlist. One where the max party size is 3 or 4 people.

You could not go about name-calling and make a constructive post about why or why not it should be in the game as it is due to incentivising negative behavior when 343 has said that they wanted to remove things that did this, for example, medals.
OP the solution is to find friends or squadmates and go in with a team that knows how to play

So, why are people farming even after they’ve obtained the armor? Achilles is not the source or cause of farming. Not directly, not indirectly, none of it. There isn’t even a correlation, as 343 showed us.
