So... 2 new maps in a year?

Does anyone think this is acceptable for a live service game?

No. No it’s not.

Seems like the idea is to bring in new maps each season, I’m fine with couple of maps each season, however it’s the delays to the seasons and 6 month gaps that are the problem with not even any kind of xp progress implemented yet, hopefully next year is more consistent and content comes every 3 months

Technically it’s 2 maps in six months.

There could be more maps drop during Season 2. Personally, I wouldn’t be surprised if they drop a few “classic” remakes to show off the potential of Forge when it releases.

And when they drop more maps for Season 3, in early November, that is also technically inside the “first year” of Infinite.

But I digress. I agree the current rate is very disappointing. I would have thought 2 maps every three months the minimum. To continue at our current rate would be bad. Very bad.

No. Technically it’s 2 maps in a year. 1 year after release there will be 2 new maps. Not sure what’s so hard to understand about that.

Nov 15, 2021 = Release of Infinite.

May 3, 2022 = Season 2 and 2 new maps.

Nov 8, 2022 = Season 3 and more maps.

Nov 15, 2022 = Infinite’s first birthday.

So technically there will be more than 2 maps in a year.

And yes. It’s only a technicality. Overall I am actually agreeing with you. It’s nowhere near enough.

Thats a weak argument and you shouldnt have made it. If it was ice, youd be swimming right now lol.
Even if it comes out a few days before the one year anniversary, weve still played on only new two maps since launch. Not acceptable performance for a game whose engine is “revving”

No I do not. Forge needs to be released and that will help launch some new and exciting maps!

Is it bad that I am looking forward to Forge to save this game for me? I have more faith in the community providing decent maps and game types than 343.

If 343 messes up the custom game browser and makes forge a monetized garbage pit, I will be upset. Very upset.

No. We’re all thinking the same thing.

The dates on the S2 events finish up on Aug 1. That’s a big gap through to S3 on Nov 8.

There is going to be a lot of pressure on Forge to fill the gap.

And as you mentioned… the custom browser is going to the one of the lynch pins.

Seriously forge and infection alone would save this gamess it would give infinite life in the custom games portion of infinite

Call of Duty gets at least 2 to 3 new multiplayer maps each season and they last for about 2 months at a time. So in the time frame of a typical COD season, you’ll get about 6 to 9 maps in six months. In Halo we’re getting 2. To say it’s good enough is just not acceptable.

It’s definitely not good enough. Especially when there is such a catalog of maps from previous games that they could remake.

CoD isnt a good comparison in general. Maps arent as iconoc since 2012 and they release a new CoD and forget the old every year.

At the moment there is no good mainstream FPS doing what Halo is doing right now. I dont count warframe or Destiny or even Splitgate the same since they are somewhat RPG’s and indi games. Halo is just split sided.

Don’t worry. This is the beta test. The full game will release in December.

Its not just two new maps in a year.
The maps we have right now in what i’ll call “vanilla Infinite” are the same maps that were ready and in the game during the beta/ flights.
They were complete upto or at least- 2 months before launch…

So in reality, its 2 new maps in 14 months…

You guys are being super ungrateful. It takes almost a whole year just to make one map. That’s why this game took so long to make in the first place. They are clearly working their hardest to pump out TWO whole maps in under 12 months. Their technology, staff, and budget might be 100x what the original Bungie team had, but that only means it must be 100x harder to make a map for the Slipspace engine. It’s just so advanced that they have to work 100x harder just to do a minor updates and bug fixes. Infinite might take 10x longer than every other Halo game to make, but that just means it will be 10x better than every Halo game in 2032. Just relax. It’s still a pre-alpha test build. Spend a bunch of money in the shop if you want them to have more money to work on the game faster. /s

The only reason why we had seasons in the first place was to reset divisions in ranked…

We are now in Season 3 come May 3rd… I’m assuming the ranks will be reset again?

I’d like to know if they are resetting ranks again in August ready for Season 4?

This road map is fictitious in belief. But acceptable for considering the state on release.

If forge and Coop get released in August and September during Season 4 I’ll probably buy the actual game.

I just don’t understand why they aren’t dropping a Ranked FFA playlist during a themed event called LoneWolves. Don’t understand.

Regarding the maps I don’t mind two maps a year. - if that’s what they choose.

nah… two maps and just a few modes? no… this is complete dog. 343 should be ashaimed at their clear lack of care for this game and their own company
