So... 2.21GB?

Could anybody from 343i give us a quick run-down on roughly what proportion of this is cinematics, voice files, map files, etc?

I don’t MIND the size, it just seems rather large. Some of us old farts can remember when video-heavy games could fit on a 600MB CD!

The videos are streamed via Waypoint. They aren’t actually on the disc (a smart way to save space). The 2.21 gigs is purely maps and missions.

and yet it is still locked weekly when we already downloaded it. i wish it would just be a weekly smaller download so we could play it at once instead of waiting for 2gb to download

Would like the separate option like that.

2.2gb for 25 missions, most of which will be repeated maps, and many of them map variants of on-disc content? That just doesn’t add up.

The maps are all new play spaces : /

i hope in the end (when ep 10 will be finish) that we will be able to play them offline…

It’s totally worth your HDD space though. New maps have big open areas. They are ultra fun to play.

I think you mean it’s an extra way ‘justify’ screwing over non-Gold players.

EDIT: You know what’s a really smart way to save space on cutscenes? Make them in-game like all the previous Halo games. Video is very heavy on space. But no, shininess must be achieved.

I am not complaining-they are free and supposedly better than the first 5 episodes.

Well I would have to say thanks to 343 for making it an OPTION to download SO. I’m not really in the mood to download something so large. Internet synopsis anyone

He does have a point, a 3rd disc may be too much to ask but, hmmm.

All you have to do is set your xbox so it will download it when you turn it off… It isn’t really a big deal…

That’s a fallacy, we can make our assumptions at week 10.

  1. Why would you even have live without a gold membership? It’s only a mere sixty dollars, for a year.

  2. I agree that they should be in-game. What if my internet go’s out? You just lost a third of the Halo 4 triangle.

Ah, my bad, it’s five new (big) maps. Just played the first one and it’s very nice.

So do we have to download then new episode?

Eh, personally I’d rather download it all at once and then never have to worry about downloading again. Downloading each week would get pretty annoying.

So do we HAVE to download this 2.2gb file to play the new Sops? Or play without downloading it?

I’m worried my internet won’t be able to download it all. It disconnects whenever I try to download anything big
