Snowfall (Snowbound Remix)

I created another Forge Map: snowfall! It’s a snowbound remix with the same subterranean elements! Has everything, including location callouts. Let me know what you think!

Appreciate that, gotta say… doing subterranean structures and having to put the snow all over the structures, was a nightmare.

How could you ever possibly improve on the perfection that is default Snowbound? :kappa:

Gonna download it and walk around a bit, see if I can’t come up with any critique. Right off the bat though, you generally want to avoid invisible walls.

First problem, you have a Sniper, but no real lines of sight to anything of interest.
Second problem, the bottom portion of the map (the road) is a bit of a no mans land, no real reason to ever go there.

I’m thinking maybe put a tower of some sort down there (about the height of the bases, maybe 48 units, make it relatively exposed too) overlooking the sniper and rockets. Would kill two birds with one stone.

Third problem, I feel the map slopes too much on the blue side, also I feel both teams don’t have entirely equal access to the sniper because of some of the terrain. Might want to refine that. This kind of relates to the first two points, as the Road is flat on Red team’s side, but on Blue’s side it’s just an undesirable hill.

Fourth, maybe use a lightrifle instead? I feel like the Sniper’s scope is a bit awkward for the size of this map.

Probably wouldn’t hurt to scatter about a small handful of tier1 weapons either to keep things interesting. SMG’s near the launch pad perhaps. Move the Battle Rifles to the top of each base to promote a bit of movement there too.

Fifth, and this is being a bit nitpicky, the Sniper and Rocket probably shouldn’t spawn at the exact same time. Put the stronger of the two on a longer counter (which is stronger is gonna vary with map design but is typically the Rockets).

Sixth, spawning could use a bit of work. Spawns should subtly direct flow, you have a couple just staring at opposite walls. Also spawning people next to the rockets is a bit of an odd choice.
