Snowballing

I’ve only played a few matches so far (two online and 3 vs AI) and something I’ve observed is that in 2v2 and 3v3 once one player goes down the match is pretty much over unless someone from the otherside goes down right after.

A fix for this would be to allow an increase in population maximums for the remaining players so that they can still compete in firepower. As it stands once you lose someone on your team its very hard not to get levelled yourself due to not having the power to combat multiple full armies. Well cooridinated leader abilities can certainly turn the tide, but even those get beat out when the other team has an extra set of powers at their disposal.

So what do you guys think? Have I just not played enough to see the comeback mechanics, or is snowballing a problem here in Halo Wars 2?

For some it might be right. But just last night in a 3v3 DM a team mate disconnected at the start, like 10 sec in and we still pulled a glaring victory. The 3 enemies didn’t even touch our base…

However it would be nice if supplies are shared and or base are given to another player instead of flat out removed.

I don’t like this idea either. If I pool a load of units into wiping someone out I don’t want another player coming in with a full army and then some to destroy what army I have left. I think it’s fine how it is. Although the sharing out resources of a disconnected player is a good idea.

With the increase maximum population I was thinking of how Stronghold did it. I was thinking it could be done in the form of an extra reinforcements upgrade so that they couldnt just nuke you straight away.

And yes a bot should fill in For Honor style if someone quits or DCs do that the remaining players arent put at a massive disadvantage.
