Snow Slide - Avalanche remake in progress

I’m currently working on a remake of Avalanche from Halo 3. What do you guys think?

BTW some objects look dark due to lack of shadow baking, I’ll post a baked video later.

Was not a fan of avalanche but i’m looking forward to see how it plays with the added mobility.

It looks very nice. I’m pretty surprised to see how similar it is to Avalanche.

What are you going to call it?

looks good

I’m torn in between Snow Slide or Snowflake lol

really nice looking map…good job!

This looks absolutely fantastic so far! I look forward to seeing more progress be made on it, especially since Avalanche is one of my favourite maps!

Looks great, one of my fav BTB maps from Halo 3. You should call it Cascade.

link?

Looks awesome, I am making a Sidewinder / Avalanche mix as well, hoping it turns out good but am running into problems left and right

video of me driving around in it, have done lots of work since this was taken i’d say the map is about 70% finished now

Looks good. I’m about half way through a to-scale Sidewinder remake.

I’m using a combination of “warthog-measuring” and timing the running distance between points to get the scale as close as possible.
I’m also taking care to make sure all jumps can be made without clamber so that the map will work with a classic gametype.

How are you controlling scale of your map? or are you just eyeballing it?

Lol I’m using a scorpion measuring scale, and just walking around, no sprinting, to time distances. So far the only thing I’m having trouble with is the terrain, some slopes are quite tricky to make.

wow, that looks incredibly fun to drive around, good job!

Beware to anyone who posts in-progress builds. There are many people out there that will potentially download your world and take it as their own, and I’m sure there are some lurking around here. So just a warning, sometimes posting in-progress builds isn’t such a good idea. I have limited playtime with Avalanche but I will be looking forward to playing your version once it is finished!

I hope this gets posted as a BTB map in the next update, you’ve done an amazing job

Links broken but I am a fan of anything involving Avalanche.

I don’t worry much about that, after all I’m making this map to share it with everyone.
