I’m Not saying the sniper rifle is OP but on adrift they are! If two people on a team rush the sniper rifle and two people rush overshield and take out the other sniper then this is only the beginning of the unbalance.
The unbalance continues when the team begins to call in ordinance drops and get other power weapons such as the SAW,rocket launcher, and maybe even another sniper rifle.
What’s the purpose of initial sniper rifle spawning when you can call one in via ordinance?
I understand some may consider this basic map control but it’s not this is simply what i like to call “Unbalanced Domination”. Like my question above says.
What is the purpose of power weapons when you have ordinance drops?
What’s the purpose of ordinance drops when you have power weapons on the map?
And with these power weapons on the map then “Map Control” and other basic halo fundamentals can come in to play.
Where you can coordinate with your team on how to take out the sniper down the hall instead of calling in a rocket LAUNCHER and blasting it down the hall.
Oh wait did i say “Coordinate with your team”? Well yes Mr. BuzzKillington i believe i did. In order to Coordinate you must have something that’s pretty much ancient to majority of the current Halo Community.
What is it? You ask. I’ll give you a hint. You plug it in to your controller and place the other end around your head. A Mic!!!
A Mic can bring to your team back in the game when your losing by 20 kills. A Mic Can form clans, gaming communities, and even new friendships.
Now I’m not saying bringing mics back into the game and taking out either ordinance drops or power weapons will secure your victory. But it is a start to bringing mics back into the game so it’s a WIN to me.
Not sure if you’re complaining about Sniper Rifles on Adrift, the oxymoron of having PODs and weapons on map in the same gametype, or that no one uses mics. O_o
Sniper Rifles on Adrift are only OP if in the hands of a good sniper. Long hallways + no descope (lots of time to line up a shot) = easy kills.

all of them actually. i forgot to add descope into the picture
Don’t rush down the corridor, because you’ll die, period.
You just have to play more cautiously on Adrift at times, Hologram works ridiculously well on Adrift, especially for that corridor sniper, best bet is getting close to him, or flanking him.
The whole point of sniping to to deny enemies from pushing into your base/flag/ important player/ etc
This doesn’t only apply to halo, but it is enforced best in this game, if players are Moving forward into an AREA you control, then you can DENY them anymore ground with your sniper…
I don’t see the big problem with snipers on adrift, they more or less do their job fine on all game. Modes and are easy to take down as long as you don’t blindly rush them down either hallway…
> I can’t snipe on that map to save my life. It’s too small and compact for the sniper.
Are we playing the same map? the map has massive sight lines. I’ll agree the maps sight lines are limited and it has far to many awkward angles, but on a whole its a powerful tool on the map. Even in close quarters its easy to get a body shot followed by a pummel or BR shot.
> How do you say a weapon isn’t OP but then say it is? Even if it’s on one specific map, it’s kind of a self-destroying idea.
There are three strategies to take down a sniper:
1. Ping him with your rifle to make him descope.
Unfortunately, Halo 4 doesn’t have descope. Can’t do that.
2. Team-shoot him.
This is most often seen on large, open maps such as Ragnarok or Exile, where there are many different angles to approach and aim at any one target. Unfortunately, Adrift is made up of has long, narrow, closed hallways, making team-shooting almost impossible. Can’t do that.
3. Flank him.
This is most often seen on smaller maps with lots of cover, such as Abandon or Dispatch. A player can come from one angle while the sniper is distracted in another direction. Unfortunately, in Adrift, every possible angle is eventually bottlenecked into–you guessed it!–a long hallway. So, can’t do that either.
So really, what is a good strategy for taking down a sniper on Adrift?
These things are ANNOYING! These snipers encourage camping on the sniper spawns and sniper with over shield is OP. They should be replaced with a concussion rifle and sticky detonator/needler.

Ahhh yeahhhh…
1.you can still make home flinch, with IMO is much more disruptive to a sniper than des oping
And how is this not possible, have 1 guy stay back and pick shots and another try and rush forward… It’s not that hard…
This is still possible, just see where the sniper shots come from and go around from the other hallway…
> 1.you can still make home flinch, with IMO is much more disruptive to a sniper than des oping
It is absolutely easier to get two body shots with a Sniper Rifle while scoped and flinching than unscoped. No one skilled in sniping will tell you otherwise.
> 2. And how is this not possible, have 1 guy stay back and pick shots and another try and rush forward… It’s not that hard…
The hallways are so narrow that the teammate in back does not have a clear line-of-sight (unless the teammate in front is running in a perfectly straight line towards the sniper, making himself an incredibly easy target).
> 3. This is still possible, just see where the sniper shots come from and go around from the other hallway…
With the way the map is laid out, in order to come up one of the other hallways, you have to make your way to the middle of the map and then out the other side. It’s very clunky, lengthy, and impractical.
That probably means they are good snipers, OP they control the map and you have to either outplay them or continue to get sniped. You have to control the weapons and the locations to win the game, that is how it has been since Halo CE.

Except this map DIDN’T have them initially, and the Super-Top players got them added, and now that us OK-Average players get stuck in match-making with them, we get spawn-raped as soon as the others can get the second sniper. If I could play with people near my own skill level, it would be fine.
Here’s an idea - turn the spawn points, so I don’t spawn with my back to them.

You could do that, but I rarely see that happen…
Often, if you miss 1 shot in the hallways, they will just go into cover as soon as they’re hit.
Here’s a solution, why not have the team come in for separate hallways and areas instead of all coming for the same hallway?
I doubt a single sniper can beat the combined effort of several players charging in at once…
Also, there’s the little tower that are on each side of the map…not only does it show a clear view to counter snipe a sniper, but it is often completely ignored by the enemy…
You now what your right, in that case, why does everyone assume that all the action of the map happens in that little corner the sniper spawns in? Most action for game modes happen in the center of the map, and a smart team would just avoid that area if the sniper was as much trouble as you explained, then the guy would either wait the majority of the match or just move to where the action is,
Often getting killed, since The rest of the map isn’t as mind to snipers…
