Snipers is gone ALREADY... Seriously?...

I was watching this forum when you asked people what playlists they wanted added and almost EVERYONE was saying Team Snipers…

And you get rid of it after what? One week? You gotta be kidding me! Snipes is the best and most skill oriented playlist in the game and you have to go and take it out. You leave in SWAT which I guess is understandable because lots of people play it…

BUT. You do realize that the reason SWAT is so popular is because it’s so easy? A very large percentage of people who play Halo are bad at it (let’s be real). SWAT is a playlist for noobs, which is fine, I’m not hating at all. But why the hell would you take out the one playlist that very skilled players appreciate the most? You need to bring Snipers back IMMEDIATELY. I already know over a dozen people locally who stopped playing today because snipers was gone.

Don’t do this to your community. you’re supposed to be listening to us,not punishing us.

I’m gonna add a poll hoping it helps. I’m honestly not trying to -Yoink- and complain, this just makes NO sense to me.

Who thinks snipers should come back??

It’s a rotational playlist. FFA will be gone next week and replaced with something else as well

I’m refraining myself from calling you out on the SWAT thing.

You’re wrong in that sense.

However on topic, Snipers was taken out because:

  1. The population was too low

  2. It was not done right

SWAT was rotational too, but that remains, and it’s BS. Something like Snipers should be permanent.

I’d imagine it was a decision between SWAT and Snipers, and SWAT is more popular.

They need to gauge how other rotational playlists will do. However, the popularity of Snipers will probably ensure it comes back every other week or so. No worries.

And snipers was fine in my opinion. Maybe coulda added a beam rifle class, but other than that it was fine. And the population wasn’t that low, there were SEVERAL playlists that were always significantly lower than snipers. Every time I was online it was always in the top 4 or 5.

Seeing as how it had less than 10,000 people in the last like 4 or 5 days, it’s clear why it didn’t stick around like SWAT has.

I don’t care much for it and wouldn’t mind to see it come back, but in the Halo Bulletin (I forget which one specifically) it was mentioned that there would be weekly updates for the matchmaking where they would rotate playlists. It was also mentioned that if the playlist had a sizable population, that the playlist would stay.

SWAT was the first of these weekly rotational playlists. Its population is still sizable (often 3rd in amount of players) and will most likely stay a while. It may even stay till the game is retired, who knows. My point being is that Snipers did not have a large population, and while you may think it is the best gauge of skill and best gametype in YOUR opinion, the population did not show it.

And if people you know quit playing Halo 4 because the removal of Team Snipers, then they should perhaps have not bought Halo 4 seeing as Team Snipers is not nearly as popular as the other playlists and is not the “main attraction”.

It may be a while before we see it again… just gotta be patient.

Ande, it’s just hte little things. I love this game, don’t get me wrong. But there are so many little things that could have or should have been done, that the community wanted. And this was one of them, and they just strip it away. There’s no reason to even have rotational playlists. They should just have tons of playlists for us to choose from instead of limiting us so dramatically.

Christ, they don’t even have MLG playlists…

Snipers does not take skill in H4. It’s one shot above the waist, and the kick is just limiting to no-scopes.

Snipers only took skill in 2/3

Honestly this whole idea of rotational playlists is pretty cool. The idea that every week 343 will make the effort to tweak and evolve the halo 4 experience based on the wants/preferences of the player base is super awesome.

Until you think about it.

Why remove any playlists? Why not just add in everything you can think of, including racing maps and grifball?

Limiting and removing things from the game is, to put it politely, lame.

Same goes for spartan ops as well i think. Episodic content is cool, but why not just let me play all the episodes/chapters that are already made?

Don, I get that. But like I said it was always top 5. And it’s common knowledge that its a playlist for very skilled players. And SWAT is an easy playlist that noobs love, that’s why its so popular. You would just think they would want to have something to cater to the serious players, very skilled players and pro players. Not just the 12 year olds that need one shot kills to not get totally dominated.

I’m not really concerned with it. I am loving FFA Throwback. But what bothers me is why not keep Snipers? Why must they have playlist come and go weekly? Can’t we just add them in and keep them all?

EXACTLY, Legion. Makes no sense.

bumping because i wanna see more votes.

I 100% agree. All I did was play Team Snipers in Halo 3. I gave up in Halo Reach because I didn’t like the sniping. I like the sniping in Halo 4. Completely idiotic to get rid of it. I won’t be logging back on until I see Snipers is back in the playlists. I have over 6000 Team Snipers games played in Halo 3 so I have some experience

I havnt been playing much JUST because team snipers is gone.

People need to quit saying this. Why would Team Snipers ever be a rotational playlist? There are some playlists that need to be permanent and Snipers is one of them.

Maybe people say it’s a rotational playlist because that’s what it is…

It will be back one day. Then it’ll be gone again. Deal with it.

People need to stop complaining that much. If Snipers is as popular as everyone claims it is, then it’ll come back easily.
