Snipers doesn't feel like classic Snipers

The smaller maps don’t work as mentioned in a recent thread and the only large maps I enjoy playing are Ragnarock and Meltdown. Complex is Ok but plays slow and Abandon is very close quarters with the majority of the game having the two teams fighting for ring 3 control.

The Beam Rifle feels out of place and the team that gets there first usually wins the game because it is easy as the DMR to use. You may as well give the team a Rocket with a bottomless clip.

I find Snipers in H4 similar to Swat. It just doesn’t feel right. It doesn’t feel like classic Halo and its not a game type I can play hours on end. The maps are a major problem in Halo 4 and not because they are bad but because they feel as if they have just been put in the playlists with almost no thought or testing which leads to bad gameplay.

I love Halo 4 but recently have found myself playing nothing but Rumble Pit with try hards because all the other playlists excluding Action Sack do not feel right or play right for that matter. The current playlists just feel so boring and I have to force myself to play Swat and Snipers which were my two favorite playlists in Reach. I really hope Halo 5 goes back to classic settings.

So yeah these are just opinions.

Why is there still reticule bloom on the sniper? It doesn’t really do much and seems out of place.

Snipers works really well on the mid sized map in Halo 4 especially on Haven and Abandon. It also was played mostly on mid sized maps is past halos. Maps like Lockout, Turf, Ivory tower, Beaver Creak, Guardian, The Pit, and Ascension to name a few could all be found in the Team Snipers Playlist.

However the fact that you don’t get unscoped anymore does make team snipers fell less like the snipers playlist from past Halo’s.
