I think it’d be better if Sniper Rifles could only destroy small vehicles like the the mongoose and the ghost. The fact it can take out just about every vehicle nowadays is annoying.
Just give vehicles weak points.
I don’t think the damage is the issue, it’s sheer number of snipers available. Snipers and rockets need to be taken out of the ordinances and placed on the map for people to fight for.

Yes. Or the Wraith’s core in Halo 3.
im ok with sniping a mongoose, ghost, or a gunner off a wart hog.
i agree that sniping everything else is a bit much.
im ok with rockets on tanks, mantis, and if you can hit a banshee. i think it is too easy on a wart hog especially since they have to deal with pp and p grenades.
i think the spartan laser should be the go to vehicle killer.

Agreed, but the rocket is supposed to be nice against warthog, the warthog has a fuel tank and other things like the motor that are all combustible, so it makes sense.

The SRS99 can keep its damage to vehicles as long as the Beam Rifle-like sniper does not damage vehicles as much per shot as it can fire 3 shots much quicker than the SRS99 can 2, as well as not have to reload if paced right.

Hydrogen is combustible by itself… even more combustible than gasoline.
I kinda wish vehicles had the same health as the driver did(Halo PC/CE). Only problem with that is then we wouldn’t have “destructible” vehicles. Really anything takes out a warthog with enough firing at it. I do agree that snipers and rockets(or so) need to be on the map and not in ordinance drops.
I hate the excuse that Snipers today can penetrate Tanks being used to justify the Sniper in Halo being able to blow up vehicles, ESPECIALLY Covie ones. This is armour 500 years in the future (and judging by Mjolnir, I’d say Armour is hands down the UNSC’s strongest point), as well, this is Space Armour made from Forerunner alloys on the Covenant vehicles. There really is no reason that, short hitting an exposed weak point, a Sniper should have any noticeable effect on these vehicles.
If they used a combination of Halo 2/3’s vehicle health system (regenerates to an extent as shown by the shields), and using the areas damaged to expose weak points, I could see this being a fair. But vehicles like the Wraith and Ghost need to have a little bit of armour protecting their weak spots before they can be targeted for bonus damage (Halo 2’s wraith had an armour cap on the back spot, for instance).
Likewise, a Warthog’s fuel source should be protected by an armoured compartment, like the main engine is, but if these are exposed due to damage, they become major weak points for Snipers.
If say the Falcon or Hornet was reintroduced, once the armour protecting the main propellers was destroyed, they would make an excellent weak spot. While the Banshee’s weakness would be it’s thrusters (located on both the wings, and the back tail of the vehicle).
The Ghost should have a protective cage around it’s energy circulator as well.
