They should remove the aiming reticle from the sniper rifle and other semi auto weapons unless you are looking through the scope. And let us go prone. The whole point of sniping is to take out targets without being seen, not run out in the middle of everyone like its a shotgun.
Halo is not Call of Duty.
Halo is supposed to be an arena shooter, where reality is suspended.

So they should turn of the smartlink system that is in all UNSC soldiers? How will going prone benefit anyone?

Ignore that link, I am doing you a favor here.

Ummmmm…no. That is one thing that should NOT be in Halo.

Nice joke. H4 is not an arena shooter anymore. Character progression, loadouts, perks…

Just because Halo implemented small subtle changes outside the actual sandbox and gunfight mechanics, doesn’t mean it isn’t an arena shooter.
And no. Prone and only ADS is a horrible idea. Go away.
In games that allow prone it promotes more camping IMO. Always going to be someone laying down around a corner. Just keep it out of halo IMO

Dude. No.
Getting a no scope in Halo= Pretty good/little luck chance
Getting a no scope in COD= Terrible/extemely lucky
Also while the whole prone thing would be neat in customs, theres no need for it in competitive Halo.
And your a super soldier for gods sake, why not run out in the middle? It makes the montages cooler. ;D

It does mean it’s not an arena shooter anymore. Character progression directly affects the gameplay. And I’m not even talking about the balance. I have a feeling that arena shooters died with GoW 3 and Halo: Reach.
OT: I disagree. Nothing feels better than a no-scope headshot with no aim assist.

How does character progression affect gameplay in the arena style sense?
How about no, Op.
Prone? In a halo game? halo 4 is becoming the melting pot of fps ideology already.
Well this OP is ridiculous.

… then don’t run out in the middle of everyone and use it like a shotgun? But don’t tell people that when they’re capable enough with a sniper rifle to do that, they’re doing something that’s bad for the game. That’s wrong.
A (good) Halo game gives you the freedom to play the way you want to play, without condemning you for making choices that are unpopular. And if that means somebody can be so capable that he/she can use the sniper rifle for every conceivable engagement (because he is such an adept gunman that he/she can always find the heads and pull the trigger at the right moment), then he has earned the plethora of successes that fall his way. At that point, I hope the Trueskill system starts looking for like-skilled people to keep this beast of a gamer away from the general public. That’s how Halo should always work. Aside from being science fiction with particular story elements and being a first-person shooter, the rest is honestly completely variable.
Edit: Personally, I’ve been wanting Halo to include more options for movement (such as falling prone) for quite some time. Never played Call of Duty, but I’ve long hoped that Bungie would incorporate Mirror’s Edge-style acrobatics to the game, to reflect the finesse of super soldiers.
I’ve wanted prone in this since I played Halo CE
But, the reticles should stay
Going prone? No thanks, Halo is about fast paced on your feet play. Not sneaking around like a little ~BLAM!~.
Removing the unscoped reticle? Maybe, it’s not a terrible idea. But to be honest, it looks like it’s gonna be hard as hell just to hit somebody, much less noscope headshot them, so I don’t think it’s necessary.
Going prone= Getting ready to get -Yoink—Yoinked!- by you’re buddy
No thanks, Spartans dont roll that way.
What they really need to do is change the sound of the damn thing.
