This glitch is driving me crazy. When using the sniper rifle I don’t know how many times I will have an opponent in my cross hairs ready for the kill when bam it tries an arm beat down instead of shooting, even when the opponent is miles away AND I am still loaded? Has anyone else experienced this? I have searched high and low on google and cannot find any discussion about this. So I don’t know if its just me or what. Is this some sort of advantage/disadvantage tactic the games uses to determine who wins?
Clearing up your words; you see someone out in the distance and you intend to shoot them with the sniper rifle, but you end up doing a melee attack instead?
Call me crazy or something, but I think you’re unknowingly hitting the melee button instead of the fire button when you try to go for the supposed kill. Depending on your button layout, this may be the cause. It’s also possible you’re mixing up control schemes from another game to Halo 5.
Sounds more like you press the wrong button by accident.
I am most definitely pulling the trigger NOT the melee and I have the controller settings on the default setting. I play snipers almost 90% of the time and I know this is something that seems to be a glitch. It doesn’t happen all the time.
Plus on a side note why is it that this game so inconsistent? one day you are kicking -Yoink- the next day you do the exact same thing but the game is behaving slightly different as in opponents moving faster and always seem to one step ahead? I mean I know it’s a game and there is a skill level involved but there is obviously some sort of inconsistency in game play from day to day. I mean if it was purely skill then high ranked players would never have low scores and I mean low as 5 or 6 kills over a entire game.
This is inarguably an input error. Has someone else used your controller and mapped your controller buttons differently? Check your Accessories app and see if a button assignment is swapped somewhere.
I had something similar happen to me on a controller when one of the shoulder buttons was sticking. You should consider giving yours a nice cleaning and see if it clears up.
