Sniper Glint, is a thing?

Why is there Glint on the sniper rifle?!
The whole point of being a sniper, is to be UNSEEN.

So what if it “Promotes Camping”
Camping is a legitimate strategy, it’s not our fault you can’t find a tactic to get us out.

Why should we be punished, for being good at our tactics?

Ya it’s terrible and beyond that there’s BR glint or literally any scope. I can get it in a social btb but I mean come on it’s just stupid. The sniper trail has been working for 2 decades

It was in H5 as well. I don’t agree with it but it ain’t going away

Yeah I don’t like it but, I don’t hate it either. I feel it benefit those on the wrong side of the scope too much, which is where I find myself too often. For me it becomes a "nope scope"bc I see scope then I say nope and run :joy:

Also makes sniper against sniper head shots impossible, because you can’t see the head through the glint

Though I do agree and don’t want it in game, irl snipers were often spotted by their sniper glint by other snipers or soldiers so they aren’t completely unseen :stuck_out_tongue:

Maybe if they set up, opposite the sun, or great light source.
But when you’re camped up in a cave, or with a mountain behind you blocking the sun…
WHY IS THERE GLINT?!
Where is it coming from?!

Not to mention, they take great care to mitigate it. Things like scope visors, special treatments, or other types of coverings.
We’re 500 years in the future and still dealing with scope glint?

Rephrase. We are NOW dealing with scope glint after years of not having scope glint??

It really doesn’t need to be in the game, it just makes snipers a target for spray n pray to descope, makes countersniping more difficult… and this is true of all precision weapons now. Like, why? We’re already all highlighted from across the map, the tactical feedback of the scope glint is too much information.

I generally like the concept of glint…as a way to not let a sniper totally dominate a match.

That said, I think a small glint if you’re zoomed and searching in the general area of the sniper would be fine, but to have a quasi-glowing beacon that draws your attention while running around the map is a bit unfair.

See below.

Just watch for the tracers, when they miss/have a different target.
There is absolutely no need for pointless glint, esp in the dark.

Oh, you must play with other people most of the time that call that stuff out. That’s often like a shooting star to me…good to see, but often miss it while my randomly matched teammates run around getting sniped without saying 1 word. :joy: :see_no_evil:

Not particularly. I always found it easier to find the sniper when they’re shooting at someone else. Also halo doesn’t really have ‘invisible’ camping spots where you can sit undetected for long periods of time unlike a CoD or battlefield.

Adding glint to basically every non spawn weapon is annoying and stupid and basically the icing on the cake. Rocket glint, br glint, commando glint like come on

Sniper glint (and skewer and shock rifle etc) is far too excessive and DOES need to be toned down. However for halo gameplay and a 1 shot headshot there does need to be some glint

If they intend to keep it, at LEAST make it aware of situational lighting.
If I’m not facing any light sources, I better not shine like a star.

I agree. Wholeheartedly!

Cuz call of duty did it and 343 is a copycat dog turd company

Between Sniper Glint and literal giant crayon outlines around enemies, I don’t see how anyone could realistically “camp” in this game anyhow.

I remember back in the day when we had to actually spot snipers using skill and giant obvious smoke trails, not just have them given away to us for free because they have a signal flare attached to them. Those were the does. Don’t know who this is meant to appeal to.

Ever played any game as a sniper and not have a glint?

The current generation wants everything fricken handed to them.
They don’t want to have to work.
I mean, look how flooded CoD is with cheaters now a days…

Yea, it’s called “Sniper Elite”

  • Good Ol’ -Yoink!- Shots.

AND the OG CoDs, when they were good, before they turned into cash grabs.
