Recently ive noticed that 1 in every 3 games I play there is at least one smurf or even a team of smurffs in some cases that cause the game to become unbalanced and unenjoyable. (A smurffs is someone who creates a new account and purposely ranks lower than their what they should be for example an onyx playing bad on a new account to get gold and then playing properly)
i can understand to a VERY small extent why people smurf, for example they may not be able to find games at their level which in some sense gives a weak excuse. However smurffs are killing the casual player base and reducing the already low population of the game. They make the game less enjoyable, ruin it for casuals and take the game way too seriously. Imo it’s pathetic that people go to the extent of making a new account and ranking low just so they can steam roll other teams, what’s the fun in that? We need to call to an end to smuffing as smurfs have become the “cancer” to the halo community. I would like to invite a smurf to give me a valid reason as why smuffing is not scummy and isn’t ruining halo. They even added search preferences to help higher rank players find games. You can recognise a smurf via looking at their account and seeing that halo is their only game played, they are a low rank and they play extremely well, these accounts are normally used as a second account just go r halo how wet I recognise some accounts could have legit just bought halo but this is very unlikely. Pls comment on your opinion of smurfs and how to deal with them. Or if you are a smurf pls stop and think. You are killing the halo community, is this what you want?

I see a lot of this in swat…always one silver guy on the team that plays really well. It’s especially tough matching up against teams like this in placements.

Do you remember what a deranker was? You would get to a decent level and then all of a sudden one of your teammates would start betraying you. taking the flag out of the map, or suiciding, anything to ensure that your team lost the game. The goal was that they would drop all the way back to a one and then just destroy players way below their skill level. Smurf accounts harm the people at the bottom. Derankers hurt everyone.
And I find it precious that you don’t know who Gargamel is.

I dunno. Both are bad, but it could take tons of games of people tanking on purpose to rank down, where it only takes ten to rank low then actually try. I’m not saying smurfs are good just maybe not as bad as the people who suck it up for 30 consecutive games to rank down.
I agree op. I recently unsubbed from a YouTube channel I’ve followed for about 1.5 years because he posted a video of him smurfing.
Yeah when you see a Bronze with a 30K 2D on Slayer he certainly isn’t what he seems.

I’ve just found out who gargamel was, loved your last comment now:) and okay I see what you mean, but you can banned for grieving whereas smurffs get away with what they are doing so in my opinion smurfing is worse but thanks for the post

Haha, normally I check people’s ranks after and compare it to how well they did. Then I check their gamercard to conclude whether they are a smurf or not
Recurit armour low level 20-5 I’m checking that gamer card 99% of time it’s a smurf. I think why just why? To pound les skillful players for clips? Really!? I’d like to see more clips/montages of real accounts, I know that doesn’t mean anything to some but it does to me.
