I’ve been playing Halo online since the start, I heard everything, and as usual, people will complain about everything.
Halo 2 “elites are too stupid looking in multiplayer, take those lobsterbacks out”
Halo 3 “the hayabusa armor does not belong in halo! that’s not even halo!”
Halo Reach “heart attack, pestilence, inclement weather, and grunt birthday party have no place in multiplayer, it ruins the experience”
Halo 4 “some visors colors are so ugly, I can’t stand how they make some players look”

After all is it not their new idea that “MP is cannon” the excuse they used to ditch playable elites in MM?

Elites
Dr Halsey
Cortana
Capt Keyes.
After all those would just be “Skins” for the player models too right?

because there are people like to show off their REQ acquisitions or like to see them at the customization screen. Now, during in game, I have no idea why people care.

Really, the only things that aren’t useless are the Warzone items you can get. Other than that, the armor, assassinations, emblems, helmets, and stances are also useless. They only serve to suit personal taste, so in reality, the skins are as useful and valid as half the other REQs in the game.

I know Cobra would love to play as Halsey.
That does pose an interesting idea for “Hero” characters a la Battlefront. In something like Warzone, at least.

Since Reach the excuse for not having playable Elites was because MM was Canon, this philosophy was then adopted by 343I so yes Bungie is relevant.
Now since MP IS canon then stupid skins should have no part in the game as they are not Canon.
Or then stop with the lame excuses and re add playable elites to MM etc.

Why would I care about seeing my gun in the customization screen? Nothing “weird” about looking at your weapon when its right there in front of you 90% of the time, so it might as well look nice.

If you don’t care, then why do you care that we care? How does it affect you? It doesn’t. Are you forced to read threads about it? No.
So please, get off your high horse and just let everybody give their criticism/opinions about the game. If some of us think that pizza and fries skins are the stupidest thing to ever be a part of Halo, then let us keep thinking that.
