Its just concept art, but it’s cool to see an H4 SMG. I guess they took it out for the SAW. But I’m sure this is real concept art because I see other UNSC weapon concept arts like it.
Ahh, I would have loved to see the SMG return in Halo 4! It’s a shame that it didn’t make the cut…
And although I like that it’s pretty much identical to previous incarnations, I can’t help but feel disappointed that they didn’t go the BR route by planning a new, fresh look for it.
I think the should have included the Silenced SMG from Halo 3:ODST in this game, as a secondary weapon for Custom Loadouts; the Silenced SMG was unique for the fact that it is the only automatic weapon in the Halo series to feature a scope, and it would make a nice alternative to the Magnum for my BR loadout.
It would be cool if they put a scope on it like in Halo 3:ODST. If it returns I hope it has the scope on it, that would make it unique from the AR. That and the reticule climb it has.

I agree. It’d be unique as it’d be the only automatic weapon with a scope.
One of my favorite halo weapons from the original trilogy was planned but axed for a freaking LMG power weapon? C’mon man the saw doesn’t even fit in Halo matchmaking anyway… It’s either used like a Glorified AR or completely ignored…
It would have been pretty interesting to see it in action, even without duel wielding…
Would have beat the storm rifle and the suppressor as an alternative auto at least…
It would have been interesting to have it as a secondary. That would have required a buff for all of the current secondary weapons, except for the Boltshot. Launch day bolt shot would have been okay if SMG was a secondary.

Doubt reticule climb would happen seeing as how we’re playing as Spartans. Then again H3 had it.
It was most likely going to be a second UNSC sidearm option if you ask me. It definitely looks really nice compared to the ones we saw in Halo 2/3. I like the design a lot.
Budget cuts, time constraints, many of these really stopped Halo 4 from being the ‘best game ever’.
Every Halo gets this problem, and man is it painful!
