SMG Inconsistencies?

I’ve been playing breakout and with SMG starts I start to notice breakage in the gun more often.

I got pretty pissed after I got killed by someone I flanked. I came up behind them, proceeded to shoot them, then they turn around with their SMG and kill me in half the time I’ve been shooting them. This stuff also happens sometimes in Warzone, yet I won’t be killed because of… full shields?

The SMG’s damage dealt is so inconsistent only when going against another SMG. When ambushing an enemy with an SMG (while they themselves have one as well) it seems like suicide. They might as well get the first shots on me (oh wait, that’d make my SMG more powerful, whoops).

The aiming with the SMG is also inconsistent. In the same game of Breakout, I was shooting at someone and once they started shooting me, my bullets would almost always miss. Until, that is, I aim way off target and then started getting a steady stream of hits just before I get shot down. Does that mean if I want to use the SMG effectively, I have to start shooting without aiming? By the way, I’m not aiming down the sights, since at that close of a range that I was at, it’d be dumb.

I wonder if anyone’s noticed problems like this.

If so, feel free to share them.

I once started shooting someone in breakout who was not even looking at me, I hit so many shots on him but then he just boosts out of the way, turns around, then proceeds to shoot me to death with a magnum.

Another case of the “OP” magnum. When this thing’s in the hands of a guy who’s great with headshots, it’s deadly. The damn thing has a faster TTK than a DMR, and it takes the same amount of shots for a perfect kill as a DMR. What’s the point of a DMR then? What’s the point of any other weapon?
