As the title says, I’m asking if the SMG will be in halo 4.
I really loved this weapon: even the halo 3 version, which was like a close range AR, or the halo 3: ODST version, which had longer range and was silenced.
I missed it a lot in halo: reach, it was a lost of variety, and there wasn’t any weapon which could fit in SMG function (the plasma rifle and repeater were really bad)
I would love to see both versions of the SMG in halo 4. It will be awesome.

I would like to see it back just beef it up a bit and maybe make it a secondary choice in weapon loadouts.

The SMG from halo 3 ODST was still pretty good
The SMG was really designed for dual wielding
No dual wielding, no SMG.
I suppose…
There’s no dual-wielding and the plasma rifle won’t be coming back. Something tells me the SMG won’t be returning either.

As of now we can’t be sure whether the SMG makes an appearance or not. It was previously meant as a replacment for the AR and as the human dual-wield weapon. People say we won’t have the ability to dual-wield…
But then think of this: The DMR was a replacement for the BR. Both the DMR and BR will be in Halo 4, plus the AR and SMG have already lived alongside each other in previous installments, so why not?
It is possible the assault carbine is an SMG replacement (like that Kurt picture from the GOO cover)
However, the AC could be railgun we have seen. I am unsure.

IMO ODST’s Campaign & Firefight were much better than Reach’s.

We already have the BR and DMR, both are basically the same weapon, a little redundant.
Why not have the AR and SMG?
I think it would be cool to have to SMG back in like an automatic pistol role. Large clip, kind of weak, but good enough to get a clean up kill. Also it would be nice if it was scoped like ODST.

BR mid-range, 3 round burst, kick-back
DMR Long-Range, Single round, Bloom
2 different weapons however:
AR Close Range, Fully Automatic
SMG Close Range, Fully Automatic

What makes Reach so much better? The fact that it has MP online? Don’t forget what made Halo what it is today; The Campaign. For true Halo fans (not just the kids who buy it to play online and look cool in front of their friends) the ODST Campaign is really great. It adds a lot of beef to the Halo universe. Even if Reach is “better” that doesn’t mean that ODST is a bad game, and it certainly doesn’t give you reason to come onto this guys topic and make fun of him for liking a gun in ODST. Its idiots like you that make people afraid to give their honest opinion in these forums because people like you just jump from page to page running your mouth talking down to people. Do everyone here a favor and take your uninformed, over opinionated comments somewhere else.
