I think smart scope is a good idea but 343i is going about it all wrong. Some weapons like the BR and DMR do not need a smart scope. The scopes of Halo 4 will fit perfectly.
I can see the AR, SMG and Pistil getting the upgrade but the BR and DMR sure as hell do not need it…

They don’t have one. They both have a regular scope. Except for the BR, which has a red dot-style scope.
It’s fine that the AR has it, it makes the gun more viable at mid range, and not just a useless bullet hose. However a gun like the smg, a strictly close range spray machine, doesn’t need it. The smg’s range prevents it from being used on battles that have more than 2 people, and in close range 1v1 battles with autos, there’s no chance of getting a chance to zoom because of descope. The zoom is just needless and makes the ar and smg’s too close to each other then they need to be.
I thought the same thing br and dmr had perfect sights in halo4 but the smart scope is pretty cool with the ar smg and pistol the only problem I have with the dmr is the sight seems very small but I guess it really isn’t problem I guess I’m just picky.
The SMG doesn’t, why would an extremely close range weapon like the SMG have Smart Scope?
