While looking at some of the new arena gameplay, specifically RUL’s, I noticed on the Default button layout that there’s a button designated for zoom and a button for Smart Link (Left stick and Right trigger respectively). What is the point of separating them?
Idk but I hope this means they worked out the animation timing and were able to add in an optional classic zoom for weapons that center so the gun isn’t displayed while zooming.
The Zoom feature is mapped to the Sprint button on the layouts using the LT as Smart-Scope. Then why is Zoom also on the Sprint Button/LS?

If you look at the other layouts using the Right Stick/RS to Smart-Scope there is not mention of another Zoom feature anywhere else on the layout. This is because when you use the LT to Scope you hold it down and don’t tap, which means that you wo’t be able to zoom a second time when using snipers because if you let go of the LT you will stop scoping.
So no, it does not mean there will be Scope and Classic Zoom, just anothe button to zoom in one more time using snipers when playing with COD-like button layouts
