For those of you who have read the new game informer, it states that there is a prologue, like any halo game but 343 explains events leading up to the start of Halo 4. I personally really like this idea because they outline the important details that allows but halo veterans and newbies to be refreshed on whats going on exactly. Some Halo gamers know all there is to know about the story, others know very little. I for one am very glad 343 is doing this.
You know somethings wrong here when I start thinking every thread that has something nice to say is sarcastic. But yes, I’m liking what 343i is doing.
Indeed. The gameplay is speeding up, variety is being added, and a prequel is icing on the cake. I’d never show Reach to my new-to-gaming friends, but Halo 4 could end up being the defining Halo experience, and making the Campaign more accessible is a brilliant move.
It’s honestly something Bungie should have implemented back in Halo 2.
No this is a bad idea. It just goes to show you that 343 is catering to the noobs. Why else would they put that in. Ugh… this game is looking uglier and uglier the closer we get to the release.
Good thing too! Halo CE started at the most inconvenient point in the entire story of the war. If you didn’t read the books, you had no idea what the hell was going on.

I disagree, the graphics in my opinion are very nice, the lighting system is stunning, but I understand where one could be disappointed. I know there has been a lot of debate about the grunts and elites and even chiefs new look. They are different, some are weird, but we will see how things look in game!
Im excited to see this cutscene to say the least.

Couldn’t agree more, reach helped a little, but it covered a COMPLETELY different story and spoke of nothing related to John or blue team.

Not all noobs are newbs, and not all newbs are noobs. I don’t see the harm in catering to the newbs if one isn’t catering to the noobs in the process. :\

Wow, rigid.
Are you honestly trying to apply that annoying ideology of Multiplayer to the Campaign?!
If you’re trying to be sarcastic, make it a little more obvious.

Honestly, recapping the last trilogy isn’t catering to the noobs… Its just a recap of what has happened, there has been a lot in the past Halo games and me, a long time halo fan (both games and novels) forget some details every now and then. I would love it if the entire trilogy was summed up into a few minutes by the developers.

Oh no! More people will be able to understand and become invested in the campaign of Halo? That’s a horrible idea, we want to keep the community enclosed in two small cages; casuals and competitives and anyone new who wants to join in is NOT allowed.
It’s a prologue, it’s optional to watch and it has NO effect on how you play the game. Not to mention it is designed to help people, if people who have played all the way but want to revisit the games.

My god dude, either you’re trolling, or extremely elitist.
There are in fact people out there who haven’t followed the Halo canon as much as the rest of us. Hell, i pay attention to every bit of story i can find, and even i might occasionally need a quick refresher with one or two things.
Get off your high horse and check yourself.

Mind = Blown

your telling me… since when is it a bad thing to allow new people to join a game…
I guess it’s helpful. I’ll be playing through CE-3 before the release of 4 anyway.
A prologue? OMG GoW 3 copy! This is unacceptable!

Am I the only who sensed the sarcasm? It’s so obvious…
Prologues adding to the storyline… well at least we’ll be ok to understand what has transpired since Halo 3…

I couldn’t disagree more. It doesn’t effect you whatsoever, so deal with it. Even someone like me (Who has read all the books and knows a big chunk of the Halo universe) will find this interesting to watch.
