It’s a small detail, but i was wondering… in the books he is always said to have brown-hazel like eyes, but in the prologue we see him as a child (i presume it’s him, i’m not sure) and he has blue-grayish eyes. I thought it was just artistic view of the video since all Spartans appear to have Cortana’s edited Mark VI armor at the beggining of the war and that wouldn’t make any sense (I think they did that so the new players would know they are Spartans II). But a few days ago i read somewhere that frankie described him having blue eyes. So has this been retconed?

Are you sure? Because I completed it on Normal and didn’t see that last little bit, it went to black.

Same here, went to black on heroic and only saw his eyes on legendary.
Hmm, I might have to beat it on Normal. My friend did that (I’ve only beaten it on Legendary,) but asked me if there was anything past his armor being removed.
The eyes are really all that’s added? Eh…

That’s after being modified by the Librarian. Obviously he didn’t have black eyes all along.

There is a Legendary ending.
When I first saw those eyes, it scared the ‘crap’ outta me. Half that I wasn’t expecting it, and half was the stare was so intense.

Yes, i have, but they are too dark to know for sure. And if you look closely in the picture that was posted before in the thread http://i.minus.com/i9Yn3Dai1qeQS.jpg they look blue there too don’t you think?
On one of the Reach live action trailers Carter’s eyes change after his augmentations so maybe this could be used to explain the discrepancy.

I don’t recall any book describing John’s eyes. Fall of Reach certainly didn’t.
Don’t take the Prologue or Scanned trailer spot-on canon.
So I just watched the Epilogue cutscene on Normal, and it still showed John’s eyes.
Can someone double-test this?
The augmentation process changes their eye color.

I believe once you beat the game on Legendary you get that ending no matter what difficulty it’s on from then on. I just watched in on Normal and it showed it.
No wonder it confused me… lol
