Small problems with an amazing game

There are only a few fundamental problems I have with the game at the moment, other than these few things this is easily one of the best games I’ve ever played, and I’ve played a lot.

The first, a most prominent for me, is that you can’t make it so zombies have guns, or change their armor abilities like you could in previous titles. The main thing that drew me into buy Halo 3 was forge and custom games, with infection being my favorite because the possibilities for imaginative game modes were endless, and the removal of this feature saddens me.

The second is that there is no juggernaut game mode. I mean, they ruined it for me in reach as they made it so you basically couldn’t make the Juggernaut invisible because he was always on fire, so no stealth game modes were viable, but now it just isn’t there, and with the lack of possibilities for custom games from infection (or “flood”), any game mode like this is nonviable.

The third is some of the multiplayer balancing… I can’t remember if this was in Halo 3 but I certainly remember it in reach; your shields, no matter how many you had, would always deflect one melee. But now, even if you are below half of your default shields it’s a one hit melee kill.
Also, the shields take WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY too long to recharge in comparison to Halo 3, with an example being how a guy took down my shields, and I took cover behind a box to allow my shields to recharge so I could pop out and take him evenly in a one-on-one, but then after running around this box for what seemed like way too long, and without my shields recharging (and without taking a hit) he just jumped over a got the headshot on me. I’m not sure as to why 343 have done this, possibly to counter the weapons doing lots more damage, but that doesn’t make sense to me.
Another is the bolt shot… No spawn weapon should be a one hit kill, especially in Halo. It’s basically the go-to loadout secondary weapon.

The last is some of the maps on certain game types in matchmaking, with some not really making sense. This is probably mostly personal preference and opinion, but it’s things such as how I don’t really think there should be symmetrical maps on game types like flood, and also how overplayed haven is, and I think it’s just too small of a map for some objective modes.

Personally, I think any of the matchmaking balancing and map selections issues are less important than that of the custom games, as the transition from Halo 3 to Reach was similar, with different balancing within the game to try and make people play differently, but the custom game options are easily the most disappointing thing to me, as I was the guy making maps and custom games with friends and then getting a full party of people playing them. I almost definitely spent most of my time in Halo 3 playing custom games over matchmaking.

P.S: Ravine is tiny and I’m never gonna build anything on it. I want forge world or sandbox back! But maybe these are the sacrifices for a superior graphics engine… sigh

Yeah, I feel like that too. There a lot of little things about Halo 4 that bug me, but other than that, it’s amazing.

I agree completely, Halo 4 is one of the best Halo’s I’ve played but it does still need some tweaking.

Finally someone that sees what I see. I completely agree with you OP. There are only small problems with the game yet people are all “this game doesn’t have what I want so it’s bad hurr durr”.

The only things that have bugged me so far is the custom game options such as the lack of infected options and the fact that I cant get my Mark V helmet. I sad face :c and I agree and am still complaining about the lack of forge space.

Lots of people seem to be complaining about these small changes, they definitely aren’t worth complaining about, they’re more nitpicks.

Yeah, perhaps they should implement a separate “infection” game mode, and just have the flood as an optional skin and have “flood” as the playlist. Perhaps the flood skin would only work if the zombies have swords and no weapon pickup. The fact that you can’t change these things kind of ruin the chances of making hundreds of great custom games.
