Small Problem with 6 Months of Updates

Don’t get me wrong, I appreciate the fact that we get new content, new maps, new game modes. It’s all great. The only problem I have with it is that by the time the last of these updates roll around I’m going to be on different games. It is already getting monotonous even with these updates, idk if I will last until August to really enjoy the full package. Halo 6 should have full content at launch; I’m cool with getting new maps and what not, but there is no reason to not have all of the game modes at release.

There were plenty of game types for the release. And they have been adding everything that everyone wants. As far as playing other games, go for it thats why an xbox can play more than one game because youre supposed to.

I think if there were to many playlists the population would be spread kinda thin
Altho i do prefer the neater look of the current playlists but thats my own personal opinion

The strategy is to slowly release new content to keep players engaged. All games manufacturers release updates to their franchise games. It is not a unique or new plan.

Sir, you are level 13. you barely play the game as is. Don’t come on halo waypoint complaining about a “lack of content” when you only commit 30 minutes a week to this game. Your opinion on total content is the least relevant. Now if you were level 120 and had a couple entire days of play time, the story would be different. Play more, experience the game, THEN review it.

I get the strategy I’m just not sure if I agree with it… And that’s not just because I want everything at launch. I believe releasing a relatively thin game at launch could make a player bored quickly, leaving them to move on to another game they could fall in love with, only to never put in Halo 5 again. And while it is not a unique plan, there are plenty of games that offer everything except extras like maps at launch.

Don’t judge a book by it’s cover… I don’t have a waypoint account for my primary. But I do appreciate that courtesy of calling me sir.

Just go play another game and come back again. I’ve not played in a few weeks as I’ve been getting stuck into the division, but will come back to Halo shortly for sure. Variety is the spice of life!

Hahaha I’m level 87 and I have some 6 days of playtime. At 120, you’d have a TON mote than a couple days buddy. I totally agree with you though.

Taking breaks is what keeps you from getting burnt out on a game. I just got back from vacation and with the release of GOM I’m actually pretty excited to be playing again.

“Oh no I won’t have time to play all this content”. Would you rather have too much content or too little? This game has kept me coming back more than most recent games and think the updates are great and want these updates to last forever (which I know is unreasonable on 343’s part).

Go play the other games you’re interested in and then come check this back when you feel it’s “finished”.

Sidebar: ISO of web browser that replaces the phrase ‘cut content’ with a picture of a puppy because I’m gonna vomit if I see that silly little description assigned to another game.

Its true, however I think that in this case the slow release of content has driven away a lot of Halo players and made some current players mad.
I personally don’t mind.

valid point, but they did have a crazy deadline

I can’t wait to see what’s in hog wild

I just wish the new updates included more warzone maps we have a whopping 5 now which is a heck of a lot better than 3 but the way I see it is if warzone is one of the most played playlists and 343’s req spending love child why not include a plethora of maps so people don’t get bored of the same few maps in rotation guess I can’t be greedy but it’s hard when Apex pops up 3 games in a row…

If anyone has truly left Halo they probably aren’t doing much gaming period since most games now follow the same thing, nowadays games have deadlines and all the content they plan on giving us isn’t reasonable. 343 is still working on content to be released over the coming months in addition to making changes based on community feedback, the backlash would’ve been even larger if 343 came out and said “OK so the release date is getting pushed back a year or more, and once you buy the game be prepared to install a 50gb game and have to download another 75gb from the internet because we can’t fit it all on one disk” and then find out that they haven’t been fixing any of the things that they have been with these updates because they didn’t have any feedback other than the beta. I for one would’ve been pretty pissed if I had to wait another year and had all the problems we originally did upon release.

No, there weren’t. Its much better now, but come on… Really?

I am kinda liking the updates because it gives you something to look forward too in the game.

It does. Its always nice to have post launch support as big or not so big as it may be each month. The bigger concern is the file size of each update making Halo 5 take up a larger and larger chunk of a person’s hard drive space.
