Small balance issues (weapons)

(Almost) everyone agrees that DMR and Boltshot are overpowered. I cannot imagine those won’t be fixed with TU, but there are other weapons that IMO needs some fixing as well.

Assault Rifle - ok, everyones happy that it’s finally useful, and in close range it can kill BR user, but when compared to Storm Rifle or Suppresor it seems to be little underpowered (little, but still). Each time I’m using SR or Suppresor I win most of face-to-face fights with AR users. It also goes other way, however it wouldn’t be a problem if AR had other advantages. AR range isn’t very good and it’s not compensate with its power. You really need to be very close to opponent with precission rifle, to stand any chance. I would lower AR’s recoil (or rather recover time after series), so with shooting short bursts it could fill the gap between automatic rifles and BR.

Carbine - let’s face it: it should be a little more powerful. In close/mid range you need to have a really fast trigger finger to make this rifle useful. Also it’s hard to aim well when you are mashing trigger button, so in mid/long range you’ll mostly die when confronted by BR or Light Rifle (not to mention Gods DMR). 1 or 2 less shots needed to kill, should do the trick.

Pulse Grenades - I understand they require more tactical approach than Frags or Plasmas, but still they’re weak. Even when used as a firewall, most opponents go through it because damage is marginal. Also besides making very small damage they don’t affect opponents any way: at least slowing them down would be a nice addition. Worst of all, when you are choosing Pulse as your loadout’s default grenade, you only get one (1!) by respawn, making it’s power even worse.

Anyone agrees? Anyone disagrees? Anyone has other suggestions (except for DMR or Boltshot)?

Sorry to be a downer, but in my opinion, none of this would need to be talked about if we didnt have loadouts. but on topic, i guess its all depending on the user

Nah, I like custom loadouts. Taking them out would be like killing a cat to get rid of fleas.

The Carbine (and the Needle Rifle) have always taken 7 shots minimum to kill someone, it doesn’t need a power buff.

The BR, however, NEEDS to be a 4 shot kill again. I don’t know why it isn’t…

From what I experienced, you basically need to be in the arms of someone to kill them with the Suppressor; Assault Rifles seem to have a fine range with me (though I can’t always tell them apart from a SAW, might just be me though…)

Boltshot should be a one hit kill from shorter range and only if you hit the opponent in the head.

I know you said no DMR or Boltshot complaints, however the DMR completely outclasses the carbine in every way imaginable. The DMR kills vehicles and people way faster, can be used at a longer range, etc. to fix it they just need to turn down the distance you can have the reticle turn red on people or slow down the fire rate.

I don’t get why anyone would use the carbine when the DMR is around. It takes more bullets to kill, it kills slower, has a shorter red lock range, longer reload, and a longer swap time. It would only be good in Swat but its not in that playlist at all.

AR always have been BR’s little bee-uch, but Halo 4 fixed it ;). It could fix Carbine as well.
BR is nicely balanced to most of default weapons. Making it 4 shot would balance it to DMR, but all other weapons should be buffed as well. I say: just leave it as it is.

DMR outclasses everything (except for some power weapons). Even automatics in close range. Nerfing it is beyond any discussion.
