Its not cool, you sound like a -Yoinking!- bully. Even my own teammates have shouted at me for small things. I’m not so much offended as I am dissapointed in the kind of atmosphere some people bring to the lobbies. Play competitively, give your teammate tips if they’re not doing great, but don’t be an -Yoink- hole.

The thing is that smack talk isn’t even real smack talk anymore. It’s always a singular 14 year old that wears potleaf socks despite not smoking who will just repeat the words “Oh my god dude, oh my -Yoinking!- god! Holy -Yoink- dude! You guys -Yoinking!- suck!” to his silent trammates because they’re too points behind. That’s not smack talk. That’s being a -Yoink-. REAL smack talk would be 2 people going back and forth with banter and insults that they’re both part of, which doesn’t happen anymore. It’s all -Yoinks!- from the example above.
Back in the day people were so much better at talking trash. I miss those days. It made you aspire to something more.

rofl that would be me and I understand its probably annoying and I’ve been trying to keep calm lately. And I don’t know why but today I encountered quite a few people who were genuinely being vulgar. Yeah yeah its competetive gaming of course this is going to happen

Trash or smack talk is the way players communicate now. “That’s how dad did it, how America does it, and its worked pretty well so far.”
I love it, especial when they talk smack at the start and then you clean the floor with them.
I use my headset only when playing with a fireteam. Otherwise, not a peep.
Just shrug it off. I had a teammate criticize me for camping the top of the garage on Dispatch. I was keeping 5 guys tied up in the spawn tunnel and he was telling me to get in the base.
Half the time the people yelling at you are idiots. Mute and move on.
No one uses their mics then come online to complain and blame 343. 95% of the time I cannot hear anyone until the post game lobby, unless it’s just them cursing or breathing.
