Sup people! First of all I’d like to thank 343i for the incredible map designs they’ve came up with. IMO they are very well done: open spaces, medium sized, enough for covering but not hiding; you are constantly engaging with the opponent. Also, the gameplay has improved a lot from the beta!!
Yet, even though I’ve just played around 10 matchmaking games I feel something odd. It’s like the pace of the game feels slow. Over those games there were many time that I felt that I played for too long. Since in this Halo you are killed faster and have the normal respawn time (3 - 4 secs) the game feels to develop slower (don’t know if it is because of lack of engagement). I also don’t know if this is a psychological effect that is driving me crazy. Maybe is just getting used to. I have played all Halos before (specially Halo 3 and Halo 4) and I did not feel this…
Anyone feeling the same?

I’ve never played a Halo multiplayer game before this one, but coming from another game made by the forefathers of this franchise - I won’t mention the name here - it feels slow by comparison.
what are you guys playing? The game is very fastpaced for me.
Feels plenty fast to me on most maps.
A few seem kind of large but id assume once people start to learn the maps and the movement the maps will start to flow better.
My first game was Capture the Flag and we eventually hit the time limit because the really good player on the other side was just looking to greatly increase his K/D, not to actually win. Took forever to finish the match. The combination of a full length CTF, the annoyance of going against someone far more skilled than you, and the ~7 second respawns made the match very boring and very slow.
Since then, I’ve had some matches that are faster. When people are on similar skill levels, are objective focused, and you don’t end up spending 50% of the game as a ragdoll, it is a bit more enjoyable. But yes, as D3m0n Patriot said, that other game is much more frantic (in a good way).
It is also humbling to go from routine 1.2+ k/d games over there to a fantastic 0.16 k/d in my first match here. I just keep telling myself “you were at nearly 0.97 career k/d in H4 (with a similar rough start) and you’ll get back there soon!”
Though… with a 30% win rate and a 10 game 0.26 k/d, I’m somehow ranked Platinum 1 and this worries me.

What game are you playing??? There are multiple people complaining it’s too fast, I don’t get the internet.,
I have to agree with your feeling of it being slower. It is not that the pace of the games are slower. Though I feel the difference in character movement. In multiplayer the map designs allow quick engagement with others and you can really hit a kill streak fast though, the character movement, when strafing for instance, and the quickness behind the look sensitivity is different.
I have very limited time to play and generally in online match making I get 2-5 kills the first two games until I get into a rhythm. (No I am not bragging about my horrible K/D ha ha ha ha) In my first two games ever in Halo 5 I was able to achieve 5 and 8 kills and I noticed the difference in the speed of the character movement and look sensitivity.
I think it will be good for some players and some others will not like it so much, I do not have that much time to dedicate to the game so I am indifferent.
So far I’ve played Team Slayer. I am not talking about character’s movement, but the score itself. Maybe it’s because of the long spawn time… 4 -5 seconds with this little handicap kind of makes it very long.
Anyways I’ve been really really really enjoying this game. Multiplayer has been a fest!
Not sure what y’all are talkin’ 'bout. It seems like I can’t ever get away from the enemy for more than 10 seconds.
