Slow game play does not mean boring game play

I liked how 343i went for a competitive scene in Halo 5, but Halo 1-3 were more unique with a slower paced, team strategic, game play. With DICE going back to slower game play for the next Battlefield installment I encourage Halo to do the same, doing what it did best.

> Given the slower nature of the weapons and vehicles, and an abundance of trench warfare in World War I, DICE could own large-scale battles that play out at a more methodical pace. Slower pace doesn’t mean lower lethality, though, and given the dominance of bolt-action rifles and slow-firing, fixed machine guns, it might also result in a shorter time to kill to deter lone-wolf tanking strategies and generally make combatants think twice about peeking over that trench.

Halo would not have to invent this formula as they have already done it…quite successfully!

OG Link

Not to mention orginal trilogy was more financially successfull

I like the fast style. You can play slow if you want you dont have to play fast.

We don’t have a Halo game that doesn’t let you go fast like sonic.

if it goes slower, im afraid it will feel like when source came out. felt like a good looking dinosaur, and everyone played 1.6 till GO came along. could be fun if you could tweak the speed settings in halo 5.

Just to be clear I don’t mean movement I mean with kill times. Slow down the kill times don’t make everything so powerful, but that does not mean make a BRgod.

I don’t know why people say the original trilogy was boring because it was slow. What, do they need constant running and explosions to have fun? Jeez I hope they have some -Yoink!- to calm the -Yoink- down.

Halo 3 was and will always be my favorite then halo 5, but I will without a doubt agree halo 6 or 7 if it’s too late should be slower or remake h3 (just h3) for the ten year and no funny business by adding run it makes maps less appealing to me

Is H3 Onslaught slow gameplay?

Hahaha exactly man. But it wasn’t even that slow! Just a different pace from other shooters. I don’t mind sprint, but Halo 5 honestly at times feels like a twitch shooter.

No doubt it man. When Halo 1-2 I was young and would play with my dad loved the story but Halo 3 was my halo in a sense since I was older and played alone more.

Everything about the original trilogy was fantastic. The killtimes, the movement speed, it all made for top-notch gameplay. This recent obsession with abilities, and sprinting, and zany movement mechanics really drag the franchise down. I will always consider Halo 1 to be a masterpiece. Hell, I still to this day get my friends together for Halo 1 LAN parties. I hop on MCC once or twice a week for Halo 1 custom matches. The gameplay is that amazing. I could only stomach about 8 matches of Halo 5’s sorry excuse for multiplayer before I shelved the game for good.

It’s the uniqueness!! I’m surprised with how many people still agree with the original formula! It seems all Halo 1-3 fans have left way point unfortunately:(

I really liked the old Halo style of gameplay, I really enjoy the old school arena shooters. Albeit my most played Halo was Reach, and while I like Halo 5’s gameplay, it’s a bit too quick for me. I like it more when skill is the defining measure of how well someone does, in Reach that was usually timing and landing shots with a DMR, didn’t matter if you had no shields, if your strafe and shots were on point, you could win. Halo in it’s attempt to become more a like newer shooters has lost this and gained the “I see you first, I win” playstyle. Which obviously has skills there to be learned and taken advantage of, I just preferred it when a single good player could take on a full team. Those were the hypest of moments. In all this being said, Doom’s multiplayer seems to rekindle a lot that new Halo has forgotten, so if you’re still looking for that style of multiplayer, Doom might be the title to check out.

There’s nothing wrong with the current killtimes, nor does the game really benefit from having slower ones.

It’s also a bit ironic considering Halo Ce has just as much lethality, and that article even says the new BF isn’t using lowered lethality to achieve what it wants.

Faster the kill time promotes the I saw you first so you will first. It is a huge problem. The BR is basically a 1 shot now. What happen to those one on one duals with the BR?

The br is basically a 1 shot? What?

The CE pistol was and is a 3sk. In no way is H5 a i saw you first i win game. I and many others have a lot of reversal medals which typically means they saw me first yet i won.

Dont get me wrong i loved CE it was my fav halo game of all time but the kill time in H5 really arent that high.
