Hi I’m Slotownoriginal aka the only Halo 5 player who is getting much worse as i gain experience. I am wondering if this could be due to the fact that i play on 2 different size tvs a lot recently. I’ve noticed a big difference in the response/lag time and how long it takes for me to adjust my aim from point ‘a’ to point ‘b’ ect. I have been playing for a bit and gone from getting platinum ranks to struggling in silver ranks and it is no bueno. Anyone else go through this or have similar experiences?
On the larger screen, you are likely to experience faster reticle movement than normal. This is because there’s less pixels per inch to cover on your screen so it can be quite noticeable. I personally play on a 32 inch tv but I have changed between a 65 and 32 often. What you are experiencing is perfectly normal, and it’s why your aim may feel bad at times. I know I went from having high play to mid gold during that time.
I think what Ethan Luculent says makes sense, and it’s probably validated by the size of monitors that the pros use. Also, I think players can sometimes forget that our controllers get worn out over time, and that could be a variable too.
That said, I can sympathize with your plight here. I kinda feel like my play has dropped as well.
However, I’m going to throw out another, possible explanation: the game is over three years old now, and the overall talent level of the players that remain is higher than it was earlier in its life-cycle. Obviously, I have no data to back this up, but my suspicion is that the competition level is more difficult now. (I’m guessing that many of the very casual players have left, leaving a higher percentage of skilled players.)
I found out that depending on the model of Xbox you use (One, One S, One X) the performance of the machine may also have an effect on your aim. So if your 2 TVs are on different Xboxs then that would also be a factor.
I know there are some average players still around and they get stuck in gold to mid plat. It might just be hardware and getting used to two different sets of hardware almost instantly is hard. The overall skill level is much higher now though.

That’s true. I used to play on a 32 inch screen and my sens was 5 horizontal 5 vertical 5 accel. Then I switched to a 56 and slowed down to 4 horizontal 3 vertical 1 accel. I also became worse playing on a larger screen which I still play on today. Every once and a while I switch to a 24 inch and I am GOD!

I looked into this and my 36 LG has an option that is supposed to reduce lag between user input and display reaction when gaming, the 49 Vizio does not have an option to support this feature. I would have to agree with what people are saying about the average player having higher skill levels as new players arent as abundant as before. A good indication of this for me is seeing my own stats, including the number of kills and deaths per match, tend not to vary a whole lot whether i am playing against platinum/diamond players or if i am matched against gold csr player.
Well At least i am not alone in this, thanks for all the input everyone
