Slightly bigger BTB

Don’t get me wrong, i like the 8v8 BTB, but for a few years, ive thought sometimes it still felt a little small and was hoping to see a possible increase in BTB size, maybe not for ranked, 8v8 is fine for ranked, but possibly for unranked playlists, just for some extra chaos when wanting a break from competitive gaming, possibly 10v10.
I’ve always preferred larger playlists with more players, however, with Halo im aware too many more may not work, hence the small bump of 10v10

Thoughts? Lets keep it civil, i know alot of you wont agree and will rage, but, this is purely for a casual mess about playlist for unranked.

I’d like to see them do something out of the box for btb lIke on battlefield 4 levels. 32v32, pelican/phantom flying, ODST/Covenant drop pod drops, elephant driving, perhaps a convoy mode where the covenant has to escort a scarab through a human city, game modes like invasion on a much grander scale. The maps could be things such as, New Alexandria, New Monbasa, Installation 03, The Ark desert, Vadam Keep on Sanghelios.

I was thinking 10v10 with keeping the maps the same size, but if they’d make BF sized maps then id love to see some 32v32 Halo action, a 32v32 Invasion playlist i can see being alot of fun.

That convoy mode you suggest sounds alot like the Assault mode from Timesplitters in a sense, which would actually be damn awesome

10v10 would be sooo much fun!

This would make a lot of sense since IMHO BTB is a more casual form of Halo anyway. Making BTB bigger with larger maps would work well since we have sprint and hopefully the new Kestrel and Gungoose.

Actually surprised people agree, i was honestly expecting all the trolls.

However, i really do hope they up the BTB playlists, i also disagree its a more casual style of Halo, BTB can get pretty heated and very competitive

I’m all for it. BTB maps would need to be MASSIVE though, (64 player-sized) and that’s just for 16v16 to not feel crowded haha… This is still Halo, after all.

Easy solution to maps being too small, use forge.

343i won’t do this, b/c their “pro” team and I use that term very, very loosely doesn’t care about it.

It’s not something they feel ppl will watch, b/c when did gaming become more about watching someone play vs playing a video game? idk but yea, it’s all about the 4v4’s in halo 5.

Sure they will have BTB but I wouldn’t expect anything new on that front, it would be nice but yea not likely.

I would definitely love to see an FPS that takes advantage of Halo’s vehicles.
343i could look to Battlefield, SW Battlefront, Unreal Tournament for inspiration on how to do GTB (Giant Team Battle) with 32-64 players.

It would be even awesomer if A,I, thrown into the mix.

I prefer them to start small since they already experienced the MCC networking issues. 8v8 being buffed to 9v9 can already be a noticeable difference in gameplay. Imagine 9v9 on a map like Blood Gulch or Valhalla. Overkills and Killtacs would come plenty. :smiley:

I’ve been wanting to see some work done on BTB for a while. I know there’s a dream of a 32v32, but man would those maps have to be huge. No remakes, completely built from the ground up. It would be insane yet beautiful.

32VS32 HaloTitanField? All vehicles on maps made on a scale larger than any Halo before

32v32 would be way to big. I mean that 64 player at pretty extreme for halo. I think 24 players would be a good number. The 12v12 should be for community creations and the Btb playlist stay at 8v8 or a small increase to 10v10. This is so the maps don’t get too big.

Yeah bigger player count the better for BTB.

There has been a few guys who have ran Big Team tournaments. They obviously aren’t as popular as 4v4 arena but there has been a bit of a crowd who play Big Team quite seriously. I don’t think we will ever see a ranked Big Team playlist but there is no stopping the community running tournaments.

As long as Halo has 4v4 arena catered too, I’d be absolutely thrilled to have a elevated big team experience made. I say let’s test waters first with around 24 player max before we do a 32v32 if they increase player count. And in case we have pelican in our ordinance for maps like that, I’m calling shotgun.
