Hey all,
Today I was playing a game of team slayer on countdown, and the usual team these days is full of noobs who can’t pull their own weight.
Apparently two of them decided they would hide out and do nothing. I caught them at it, and saw one of them get back up on it.
Clearly the game developers didn’t intend for people to go and hang out on the light posts.
That’s not an exploit. Ever heard of “camping”?
Well, an exploit can be an unitended defect in a map that the game devs never wanted to include.
It’s not so much an exploit as in cheating, however.
Um… There are much better places on countdown to hide at. Many of them have been fixed too.
The ones that remain are more or less acceptable.
Decent Hides
Best hide ever!

Sorry but there are much better hides on Countdown than the second video. Try these:

This just in, Jumping to a lamp post 3 feet above our heads is cheating.
Did they glitch out of map? No. Did they hack or mod? No. Did they find a creative way to jump onto a position most people would not have thought of? Yes.
It’s not cheating if everyone can do it without glitching. It’s called thinking outside the box. I’m fairly certain when the devs alowed Halo users to jump they didn’t do it with ninja’ing in mind. So should we considering jumping backwards over someones head a cheat too?
Pretty sure grenades jumps weren’t intentional either, so those must be cheating as well.
And I’m absolutely certain that nobody built the emp in Halo 3 with the express purpose of using that has a jump, so it MUST be cheating.
God forbid someone used creativity and did something a way people hadn’t thought of.
and it’s really annoying when someone hides behind a rock the whole time and assassinates you when you go past them. but there probally like 30 and im only 13
OP, the player were out “camping”.
> OP, the player were out “camping”.
No they were hiding. Theres a difference.
Camping - when a player sits in a corner waiting for an opponent to pass so they can get a cheap kill. Then continue to get kills using the same method throughout the game.
Hiding - When a team gains the lead, then hides from the opponent for the rest of the game NOT GETTING ANY MORE KILLS (also done when the team who hides is losing).
all I know is players that hide have no skill and are cowards because they know they will get crushed.
lol @ HLG. The once boastful group that was moronic enough to post all their hiding spots on youtube during Halo 3 era and killed themselves off. All I know is I’ve never lost or even seen a HLG group in years since that time. The few hiders I did meet all got wrecked once I found their hiding spot.
Players like that are scum. Almost as bad as betrayers.

Well, I must admit, HIDING isn’t nearly as bad as betraying (at least you can boot the noob(s) ) or credit boosting.
Heck, a banshee spammer is worse then a hider, because at least the hider can’t duck and dodge and avoid everything and fly out of reach.
And yes, I admit that the situation I originally posted is thinking outside the box, now that I think about it.
I called it an exploit because it didn’t seem to be intended by the devs.
> all I know is players that hide have no skill and are cowards because they know they will get crushed.
Oh really? I’m a decent competitive player who enjoys a good hide every once in a while.

Then they weren’t HLG. In HLG, the golden rule is you have to get up by more kills than there are players in the game. This way, if you are discovered in the last wave of gameplay you won’t lose.
e.g, if it’s a 2 player game, you get up by more than 2 kills. If it’s 4-5-6 etc. you get up by 5-6-7 respectively.
> Players like that are scum. Almost as bad as betrayers.
So because I occasionally play the game in a creative manner as opposed to a head on assault, I am scum?
I’m sorry sir, but your logic is rather lacking.
