For the entire flight, I had a strange love/hate relationship with Infinite’s sliding mechanic.
I enjoyed its heavy, slightly delayed, feel. the way it increased speed down slopes was also a nice touch. though maybe a little too much speed at times.
However, this upside of feeling heavy with the delayed activation, just felt really strange when entering a slide after a jump. it felt like I landed and then slide which makes no sense for there to be any momentum afterwards. and this might have been a bug on my end, but initiating a slide from the air was inconsistent and very difficult to read. I had my sprint set to hold and when airborne, if I released shift, looked around, or performed other actions mid air, the slide wouldn’t activate when I landed.(These causes are just speculations)
allowing slide to activate immediately when landing and giving separate animations mid air to indicate when crouching and preparing to slide (like Titanfall/Apex) would be welcomed.
