It allows him to exploit several maps. I am wondering if slide launching still works, and if the map exploits have been/will be patched.

Nope, been doing it all morning. Not to get out of maps or anything, but its a very helpful tactic.
I’m asking if slide launching is patched because I just found out about it a few minutes ago, the video I posted is from 30 days ago, and I’m at work lol.

I tried to do it in customs for a while but I couldnt get the timing down it was driving me crazy. IDK if it should be patched tho…the never patched BXR, grenade jumping, or anything else…why would they patch slide launching?

He’s talking about the original BXR in Halo 2. I don’t know what that was other than a button combo but in Halo 5 a BXR is when you melee an enemy and then kill them with a single BR burst.
I don’t think it should be patched, but there definitely needs to be more effort put in to preventing players from leaving the set playing area.
It’s cool to see skill based movement being implemented by the players like this, but this seems a little too much. I’m sure there will be some pretty gnarly parkour maps being made around bunny hopping and slide launching and what not which is awesome, but expect to see some serious kill barrier modifications being put into the vanilla maps.

It was a glitch that allowed you to shoot and melee at almost the same time via careful execution of a button combo.
Halo 5 doesn’t have it, but makes reference to it.

it was a button combo that when you were up close to someone you could melee and fire instantly to kill them. B was melee, you would hit X to cancel the animation and then you would pull R and shoot them dead. That what the BXR medal is in H5, except you dont have to cancel animations or anything. You melee and then headshot them and theyre dead…its kind of cool that they made a medal for something like that.
They also did the combat evolved medal in H5 which was a CE thing. you would throw a grenade at the power weapon and make it fly across the map or bounce off a wall so you can grab it. you can do the same thing in H5. They made that and alley oop which is when you send the weapon flying and someone on your team grabs it.

Its really easy to do. When I first learned how to do it, I’d only get the timing right 1/4 of the time. I just did it every matchmaking for about a week and now I can do it every time without even trying to timing it. I’d offer to help but its really all based on you.
It always really confused people. This guy not knowing where I went is a typical reaction when I use this on people.
From my understanding, 343 is working on out of map fixes, more specifically on Overgrowth. I also have the feeling that more players including 343 likes the Slide-boosting, so it will probably be left alone as it doesn’t really break the game and gives teams another option to outmaneuver an opponent.
The crouch jump was used as exploit which was never an intention originally, and it ended up being an identity of Halo lol.
I wouldn’t patch the mechanic itself, but if it leads to certain really bad exploits I would say just out soft kill barriers up.

In H2 reloading would immediately cancel an action. So you could melee (B) reload (X) and the fire (R) all within a few miliseconds. BXB was also a thing, with BXB not only could you land quick melees, you could “fly” if you had an enemy jumping on top of you because of the melee lunge. The BXR medal in H5 is just a tribute to the actual bug.

BXR was a button combo you could do that would allow you to melee back to back with no delay or cool down I between. so you could beat someone down in an instant.
Edit: sorry. I was thinking of BXB. Halo 5 is my first halo I’ve played to any extent. So I only know of these combos from forums and videos.
