Can anyone account for the fact that the population for slayer is always much higher than super slayer?
1-Name recognition.
2-That’s where people have to pool when they want to play standard small team games but don’t want to play TU. If you don’t care whether you’re playing TU or not, you have a lot more options and so tend to spread farther. I’d bet that if we had more non-TU playlists, Team Slayer’s population would probably drop by at least a little.
Swap around TU settings onto Team Slayer and make Super Slayer vanilla, guaranteed 3/4 of them won’t even notice.
The reason it has the lower population because most people see it as the exact same when playing it.
The reason I play Team Slayer more than Super Slayer: I’m used to it. The new melee mechanics make me rage when I get killed. With the super jackpot weekend, though, I’ll give it another shot. I like credits

its the same playlist now, just with less bloom on super slayer.
they should just get rid of super slayer and put back squad

Exactly. Which is proof enough that the vast majority of the population didn’t consider the TU changes (bloom, AL) to be a big deal.
It just seemed like a big deal because these forums whined about it 24/7. But in reality most people don’t care. If they did, they’d probably be playing Super Slayer.

Simple. TU is the minority and 343 had to acknowledge that the majority in the playlist that always has the majority of players don’t approve of TU. So they had to make a seperate TU Team slayer (which they called Super Slayer). Otherwise they would risk losing the entire population of Team slayer to other games. Which in turn would mean risking cutting numbers of purchases for halo 4. I just wish they would put the standard playlists back for everything else that got TU’d (BTB, Team Objective).
